Save your time and money. This restaurant is chocked full of surprises. Tables are covered in pathetic, old, and patchy plastic Italian table cloths. Silverware is from (at best) Sam's including bent tines and dull knives. At 6:30pm Saturday, this steak restaurant was out of two steaks, would not serve the corn and crab bisque unless all of the cook's gumbo was sold, served an iceberg lettuce salad listed as a marinated salad - the dressing was good enough, though. The salad was pre-made, looked it and tasted it, too. The drinks menu asks patrons to ask the server about the draft beers. We did and had two very good Ozarks APAs. Unfortunately for us, we neglected to ask the draft price which wasn't printed on the menu. The price was reasonable but we had to ask the server why it was different from the price listed on the drinks menu. "Oh, those are the bottles. Drafts are more expensive". We had the half & half shrimp dinner - shrimp was good. What about the steaks? Good enough is the best I can give. We eventually selected the sirloin and brought @ 1/2# home. For breakfast, I sliced it and pan fried it. About 1/3 of that steak was inedible and had to be tossed out. Surprise, surprise, surprise. All of this for $108+tip. For the best meal in town, go to Vetro's. Don't...

Very disappointing experience tonight. First the owner was trying to sit us at a 4 top table and we had 4 adults and a 16 month old. We tried to say we need a bigger table because there was nowhere for the highchair and he said bigger tables were reserved for a party of at least 5...I told him my child would be sitting at the table and I’d be ordering him a meal so we need a proper place for him to sit. He wouldn’t give us a bigger table. So as we were about to leave he said we could sit in the back. So we got out in the back of the restaurant where nobody else was to sit. Keep in mind there were tables in the main dining area. We felt very discriminated against just for having a child with us. He was so incredibly rude to us the whole rest of the time and flat out ignored me as we left and I said thank you. It really is disappointing because this was one of our favorite spots in...

Best steak I've had in a long time!! Come hungry because these are mammoth sized portions of meat. I got the 1.5lb. sirloin with potatoes and green beans. My wife got the 1.5lb. T-bone and fries. Both steaks were cooked to perfection in my opinion and my wife agrees. The tamales were ok although I don't eat tamales often so I really don't have anything to compare them too. So it may be that I just don't care for tamales in general. They were pretty pricey but about what you'd expect to pay for a good steak. Not a place I could afford to eat every day but it was worth it to take the Mrs. out for a nice dinner. Wait staff was friendly and attentive even on a busy Fri. night. Will definitely come back for special occasions.

Update: these guys are doing takeout during the COVID pandemic. You won't be...

Steak was undercooked (see pic). Asked for medium rare and it's nowhere close. It's pretty much raw in the center. The fries were warmer than the steak. No sear on the steak. It looked and tasted like someone cooked it in a toast oven at 250f. No seasoning on the steak. For a piece of meat that big it had no seasoning. The meat quality was questionable too, the texture was extremely soggy. Reminds me of steaks from longhorn (but here you pay double). The salad was gross. Tasted like someone poured garlic juice all over it. At least the fries were okay.

The food is pricey, I get that for a steakhouse, but their other options are extremely limited. I opted for the shrimp, while very delicious was not work the money. I was hoping for salmon, but the site I visited didn't offer that, only Little Rock apparently. The salad is a waste of time if you truly like salad, it's just lettuce. The steaks my friends received were exceptional in size and taste. In short, if you want steak this is the place, if you want anything else, don't go.

Doe's Eat Place is always a win in downtown Fayetteville. The steaks are always big enough to split. Plus the fries are always fresh. I love the decor and that it sets itself apart from other restaurants downtown. The service was excellent and wait staff was super friendly and professional. I have been many times and expect to go again. This is a great place just to get a real great steak. Do yourself a favor and check out Doe's Eat House.
