My whole experience with the Walton Arts Center was filled with disappointment. It does not earn even one star. I got the VIP experience for American Girl Live which was $50. On the website, it listed multiple perks including early venue access and merchandise shopping. Walton Arts Center decided to give ALL VIPs the same time as general admission. When asked why, no valid reason was given and no partial refund was given. This was disappointment one of the day. At 12:50 PM, there was a group forming outside in the cold rainy weather. The venue staff refused to let people in early. I understand that rules are rules. However, it would have been nice customer service to let people in early to get them out of the cold rainy weather. When 1:00 PM rolled around and doors were opening, I was instantly hassled with my tickets. They would not scan on the scanner. The employees questioned if my tickets that I brought on their website during presale back in June had been used before. Their questioning made no sense considering this was the first showing of the show that day. It was an over ten minute stressful battle full of unnecessary questioning and ended with no apology of an error on their end. When I finally got in, I was hoping the day would get better. Instead it got worse. I asked the staff about the merchandise table. No one was knowledgeable about where the table was. When I found the merchandise table, there were only three overpriced choices left. I had to ask three staff members and not one pointed me in the right direction. With my disappointment, I asked if I could purchase the poster that was hanging outside to have some sort of a souvenir. The person I asked was very rude and told me no. During the show, I was taking videos and photos of the show and of people’s dolls. A staff member approached me telling me that I needed to stop because this wasn’t the time or place. When was the time and place? This was a doll event. This was unnecessary and I wasn’t doing anything wrong considering at the beginning of the show, a big speech was made about taking as many photos and videos as you like. Plus, the cast themselves encouraged the audience to interact with others. I was interacting with others in a kind way. Overall, this experience was horrible. The staff alone made my experience not the two hour and 30 minute drive. This was my first and last visit. I will not be back and I will not be recommending anything about Walton...
Read moreBEAUTIFUL THEATER!!!!!! Omg I was so thrilled to see how perfect our seats were. I was a little nervous bc I had never been here before and it’s hard to pick a seat online when you have no clue what the place looks like. I swear, it would not have mattered what seat we had in this place, they were all phenomenal seats with amazing views! And awesome walking space in the rows so you didn’t have to be too up close and personal with peoples faces as you decide whether to walk past them facing them or facing away (HATE THAT PART OF THE THEATER!). This is probably my favorite theater now and I’m a little sad I don’t live closer but it’s worth the drive for a good show. They were showing Moulin Rouge and OH MY GOD. BEST BROADWAY MUSICAL SINCE I SAW HAMILTON!!! Yeah. That’s right. I said it. If you have seen the movie and loved it, know the soundtrack, yada yada, well forget it. It is NOTHING like the Broadway show and I didn’t think it could be any better and it was. I now own the vinyl records of the Broadway show bc the music is literally a thousand times more awesome than the Nicole Kidman movie version. Still love the movie but I pray they make the Broadway version a film now. The music is insane and the show gave me chills and happy tears throughout. Yep I was that guy and I’m proud of it. I’ll definitely be a frequent flyer to this theater in the future. It was easy to navigate, the concession was huge and lots of seating in the lobby for casual convos while waiting for the show. “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return”....
Read moreHello, we are disappointed with the communication of the Walton Arts Center.
We ordered tickets for The Sam Cooke concert. When we ordered the tickets it asked us for our contact information. It's common for businesses to ask of this to be able to contact you if a show is canceled. I provided my contact information, my email and phone number.
On the day of the Sam Cooke concert, it started to snow. We called in advance to make sure the show was not canceled. The phone representative said, “The Sam Cooke concert is not canceled.”
Several hours later, we decided to get a Lyft to take us to the concert. When we arrived, there was a sign that said, “Due to bad weather, the concert has been canceled.” We were livid! We live in Bentonville and the price of our Lyft was $120 to drive us to Fatyettville in the snow! Why didn't the Walton Art Center send an email and texted the customers whom provided their contact information when they bought the tickets? Signs on the museum is not effective communication and on their Instagram.
The fact was called hours before and the rep said it was not canceled, was confusing for us. We would like to be reimbursed for...
