From the moment we stepped inside Frida's California Grill we were enveloped in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that felt like a genuine escape to a bustling Mexican cantina. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our server was an absolute gem – attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food she was presenting. She patiently answered our questions about the menu, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring our water glasses were never empty. Her warm smile and genuine enthusiasm enhanced our entire dining experience. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the food. Frida's California Grill delivers on its promise of authentic Mexican flavors with an impressive menu that caters to all tastes. We started with the Queso Fundido, and it was perfect. They make it all from scratch and it shows! For our main courses, Baja Shrimp Tacos are indescribable and perfect from the first bite to the last. I had the Molcajete and the story of what it is shines until it arrives at the table and then the food and presentation take over. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes that spoke volumes about the chef's skill and dedication to traditional Mexican cuisine. Beyond the exceptional food and service, the attention to detail at Frida's California Grill truly stood out. From the beautifully presented dishes to the clean and well-maintained surroundings, every aspect of our visit felt carefully considered. In conclusion, Frida's California Grill is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. It's a place where you can savor the authentic flavors of Mexico in a warm and inviting atmosphere, accompanied by exceptional service. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Mexican cuisine or looking to explore new culinary horizons, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Frida's California Grill. It's a true fiesta for the senses and a restaurant that has earned a permanent spot on our list of favorites. Five out of five stars...
Read moreFrida's was a delight! Their menu is a refresh from typical texmex, their staff was super friendly and accommodating, and their location while small was clean and tidy.
We started with margaritas and chips and salsa, as one does - the margs were on the lighter side with a distinct lime flavor, delicious and refreshing. We missed happy hour but the prices for drinks were still pretty great. The chips were on the thicker side, which is not my favorite, but of a standard variety; the salsa did stand out, it had a nice spice but also a subtle sweetness, unlike other restaurant salsas you'll find.
For our entrees we enjoyed the molecajete, enchiladas mole, and our gf diner had the chicken chipotle enchiladas - all plates I am happy to report were licked clean. The molecajete was everything I wanted it to be - it had a little of everything, was quite spicy, and was showstopping from start to finish. The meat was very very tender, the cheese was firm with a lovely taste that went with everything, and the tender cactus was perfectly prepared with nice mild flavor. The mole enchiladas was some of the better mole we've had, with a nice rich sauce that could've gone on anything. The chipotle cream sauce on our other chicken enchiladas was smooth and rich - "10/10 will order again" from our gf diner. And do not sleep on their refried beans - idk what it is but there is something about them. They are an elevated refried bean, you're just going to have to take my word for it. Eat em, don't leave em.

Read moreThe waitress was super nice, I believe she was the daughter of the owners. I have 2 major complaints.
The food wasn’t impressive at all. I got the chipotle chicken and my dish came out with a small serving of beans, rice and the skinniest chicken breast I’ve ever seen, covered in sauce for 14.99 this was a total ripoff. Not to mention the 45 minute wait for a depressing plate.
This salsa tastes like watery marinara sauce and is horrendous, owner please fix your recipe…
My total meal alone was over 30 dollars for a thin chicken breast and chips and salsa with queso added. Their receipt didn’t even break down the pricing per item just the total this needs to be changed as well. Owners, You need to be transparent about why and what you are...
