We were in Fayetteville to visit our son when we had decided to go sit at a coffee house to get me ready for the drive back to Harrison, and let our five kids visit some more. On the way after finding this place on google our serpentine belt shredded. Luckily we had an extra that came with the van so while my husband tried to replace it after calling roadside the five kids and I sat inside. At first I was a bit worried because it is a coffee house and my five ages (14, 10, 10, 9 & 4) usually are not the quietest of children. From the start though the young gentleman working was wonderful. I had ordered a Mocha and a hot chocolate for all the kids to share. Naturally my eldest daughter didn't want a hot chocolate and expressed it outloud. The gentleman made a huge deal about how his was the best and let her and her sister watch him made it. Granted my kids know how a small espresso machine works but it is always so much cooler when someone else does it. She was enthralled in watching and he handed to her to drink. She loved it. We ended up having to sit there for over an hour and thankfully we have a travel chess and bingo game with coloring supplies. While my husband and I were dealing with the roadside and working on the van the kids sat in a lovely area and occupied themselves. At one point I came back in from outside and found that three of the kids were up at the counter. I found out that my daughter had asked the employee a question about sizes of cups and some of the science behind the counter. He was so wonderful at engaging the kids and conversing with them. He really helped with moms nerves because I was worried they were brothering him and the other customers but everyone reassured me they were being quite and respectful. This place was just going to be a quick stop that in the end being a favorite in Fayetteville for the 7 of us. The atmosphere is a coffee house but with a few activities the calming environment really rubbed off on the kids. You guys have a GREAT employee behind the counter that really is knowledgeable and wonderful with adults and children. We were there on Sunday the 27th of November and I really wish for the life of me I can remember the gentlemans name because he made sure to get the kids names before we packed up and got...
Read moreI was really excited to find this coffee shop since most of the Fayetteville coffee shops are a good drive away from our house. I’ve been multiple times and have enjoyed it. I am really allergic to dairy and always order alternative milks. Yesterday was no different. I ordered my usual and I know the baristas recognized me. I sat down and heard them talking. One said, “does she get this for a reason?” I don’t know if they were talking about me since others were in the store too, but it seemed like it. I got my drink and it was delicious. Like, more delicious than usual. I order my drinks with oat milk because it’s actually creamy and dairy-like unlike soy and almond. I haven’t had cow milk since February, so I honestly don’t remember the exact taste and didn’t realize this wasn’t oat milk. Not even 10 minutes into my drink, I got really, really sick. I’ve now been sick for over 24 hours and I know it couldn’t have been anything else because I haven’t had any kind of dairy in the past few days. I had two networking meetings yesterday that I could not cancel, so I had to deal with my allergic reactions through all of that. The whole time I was there, the baristas were distracted and having fun with a friend who had visited them. My husband was a barista in the past and is furious that they weren’t more careful. Not everyone who orders alternative milk does it because they want to lose weight or something. Some people truly cannot have it and it is so important not to mess up their order.
I am forgiving, but I cannot risk getting sick like that so I will not...
Read moreWhile you might hit a great barista that knows what they're doing and get a perfectly microfoamed latte that is the correct temperature, more often you end up with a too hot to drink latte (which means something is off temperature wise, as we know lattes aren't supposed to go past a certain temperature), overfoamed. The syrups are mostly cheap Torani and the drip coffee has been burnt tasting both times I've tried. The brownie, while from a good bakery shop, tasted like food that had been in a fridge too long. I've made a dozen trips before writing this review because I really wanted to like this shop, as there are no other good coffee shops in that area. I would visit only if in extreme desperation if I wasn't going anywhere else in Fayetteville (where you can find several good coffee shops), or if you want one of their coffee shakes (it's coffee, ice cream base and ice) which...
