Updated on 2/24/2025....this visit and purchase just lost this place 2 stars. Apple fritters with no apples and overcooked, maple and chocolate doughnuts were heavy dough and sub-par icing. Probably won't return.
Due to how places now make their dough/bread so heavy, doughy, and not even tasting like bread, I quit even wanting to look at another donut or commercial bread item for years now I decided to give this place a shot this morning. I am very happy I did! 😋
The dough is light, moist, not clumpy or heavy, fluffy, and tastes like old fashioned doughnut bread. The chocolate and regular glaze even tastes as it should and not tasting like chemicals.
This post was made and the picture taken about 1 hour later. Even cool and after that time, not much changed about the taste, texture, and quality. This is is a true old fashioned donut shop! I will be giving them my personal business as long as they can survive and provide such old fashioned reminders of my childhood trips with family to the old Fayetteville donut shops of the 60's...
