This review is solely based on their online system for takeout. When ordering takeout I always check to see if a restaurant has an online order system. I worked in the restaurant industry for 5 years and I know how frustrating it can be to have to stop and answer the phone when you’re slammed. I would have loved to have this option when I was still serving. It’s a very user friendly system, lets you make notes on each order item and I enjoy that it takes Apple Pay. Once you checkout it gives the and pickup time. My order time was 6:57 pm with a side of rice and soup. Pickup time was 7:28pm. We get there at 7:10 pm and I tell my husband “we are a little early but since it’s soup and rice it might be ready” Wrong. They do not start your order until you arrive to pick it up. I have no idea what kind of system that is. The restaurant is aware of this as there are other reviews mentioning this as well. Instead of being able to walk in get the order and leave, my husband waited from 7:10-7:35 for soup and a side of rice. He called me explaining “They don’t start the order til you get here.” I said “That explains why it always takes so long.” During that time there is a family waiting to be seated with a very disruptive child. I mean screaming “no” telling his parents he gets what he wants throwing gum balls bc they aren’t the color he wanted all while they ignored him. I know that is no fault of the restaurant’s but that situation could have been avoided for all the customers there for takeout. I didn’t check the bag wrongly thinking “it’s just soup and rice” but realized the order wasn’t entirely correct. I asked for a side of wonton strips (they normally come with it I was just wanting to make sure) for the soup and instead got a spicy Mayo sauce. We never like to judge a restaurant off one experience but the wait time for takeout has been like this every time we have ordered. I would only consider this again if I was to go inside. The employees have always been extremely friendly and we have enjoyed the food just not the...
Read moreTokyo House won the decision on today's random new place to try while dropping into the Fayetville area for business. ( It was a struggle deciding between sitting down to sushi or punishing my bowels to Taco Bell.) Menu has a decent variety of various rolls and the usual clever naming scheme that's become conventional at modern sushi bars. The Miso soup that I must have any time I try a new sushi joint was excellent! Probably one of the better ones I've had around the area. I had the Tokyo roll and it was very tasty. Not life changing or something to break the ice with an old girlfriend about over drinks....but tasty. The pricing was reasonable-ish but just a touch on the high side. Now let's talk about the service. This is where Tokyo really set a standard for me. The service was top-notch. A shadow in the background faint enough to not distract me while I embarrassed myself attempting to orginate new ways to wield chopsticks, but also ever-present to swoop in and refill drinks and check on how my life is going from time to time. Full of personality and charm, the staff was a welcome part of the experience. My waitress even brought me complimentary 'Green Tea' ice cream at the end to try and see what I thought. I loved it. While different and with a peculiar aftertaste, it perfectly complimented the meal. Glad Taco Bell took a backseat today to this little gem...I can safely put the Pepto back in...
Read moreHonestly this is a TOP-TIER sushi/maki place in Fayetteville. I've been scouting around for sushi and Asian restaurants and this place has the goods. I tried the Tokyo House roll once and now I always get it each time I come, and experiment with another roll with it each time, so far they've all been good.
I've been here about 5 times now or so and they've always treated me excellently each time. Most of the time I was just picking up food, but I ate inside last time, excellent service (they kept asking and checking in on me despite me coming alone that time) and just doing their best, I believe a recently hired waitress was who helped me out and she was great.
Decor was elegant and it was just a nice place overall. Plus, in my case they often gave me a little something with the food, like a nicely sliced orange to finish off a heavy meal, or a free scoop of ice cream, they were incredibly generous. Oh, and the plating and presentation is beautiful and neat. Check out the pics to see what I mean.
Overall, this place is definitely worth your time and money. Not to mention, for the quality of the rolls the prices are very very good.
TL;DR if you want sushi, go here. From the half-dozen places I've tried so far, its the best in the area and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the best in the state honestly.
Can't wait to try their other dishes like the...
