UPDATED REVIEW 1 YEAR LATER. They added lunch combos since my last review, which is a plus. They start at $9.99, but I wish they came with a drink. Sushi is great (especially the large headliner rolls), we love the spicy tuna apps, and service is usually pretty fast. But they just added an app and new rewards program, which I thought was a good thing, so we stopped in for lunch today. However, they only have 4 rewards, and none of them are that great. I am hoping they will add a free appetizer, free dessert, and free lunch combo reward, and then it will be worth it. Also no one on the staff knew how to use the rewards yet, and they had no way to scan it. You would think corporate would have trained everyone before they launched this. Overall, the sushi is great, prices average, hibachi is OK, and rewards need improvement. Fun atmosphere and loud music, so it's a good place for a group gathering or celebration.

I was excited to try this new place in Fayetteville. We have been to other Rock N Roll Sushi before, and I am excited they have one in NWA now and that it is locally owned! It is off of MLK Blvd near the college, good spot but lots of traffic. The turn in for the parking lot is tricky, and you have to turn in early at Slim Chicken's to get in. That threw us off, and we ended up missing it. It looks large outside but is actually a small open dining area inside, with a 4 seat bar and a variety of booths and tables. Around 50 seats total. It has a fun and funky vibe. Obviously very loud, lots of tv screens with 80s/90s videos and music playing. Cool decor, signs, and photo ops. The food did not disappoint. We did not try the apps or hibachi and went with the tried and true sushi instead. The specialty (headliner) rolls are around $15, a little pricey but average for this area. But they are large and filled with seafood and toppings. We got the Punk Rock Roll and British Invasion Roll and liked them both. You can add a side for $4 . I added a ginger salad (miso soup and egg rolls are other options), which was ok, but I wish they would add more veggies for texture and taste than just lettuce and dressing. The salad was served in a slanted bowl that was not practical as it tipped over as soon as you tried to spear a piece of lettuce. It was pretty but works better for rice, so we dumped it on a plate. We also ordered a side of vegetable fried rice for $5. Tasty and filling, I would get the rice again. They have a rewards program you can sign up for and offer a military discount. Our server was very nice, although she made no recommendations, but she was fast, and food and refills were prompt. Plates were cleared often, and she made sure we had everything we needed. When the check was ready though, she did not present it but instead had a handheld card reader. She told us the total and asked for our payment. I was a little thrown off and definitely prefer having an itemized check given to us before we pay. Overall, great new place to try if you are a sushi and music lover. I hope they add a lunch menu or daily specials (maybe bento boxes?) to get more people in. We...

I dislike leaving negative reviews like this, but, I felt it was necessary.

Food: Bad. 3/10 or a 2.4/5. Loses the essence of what makes sushi good with confused flavors. Temperature differences between ingredients, texture issues because of sauces, and overly rich sauces/minced mixtures all come together to create a confused and uninspired experience. Their fried rolls taste overwhelmingly like fried batter. Their other rolls try to capture various themes but go overboard with a mishmash of sauces and poorly seasoned crawfish, fried shrimp, and mediocre fish.

I do believe that this is a place that suffers from untrained and amateurish cooks. Our steak came out cold and of a different temperature to the rest of the dish. The portions of protein were rather unacceptable for their most expensive hibachi option, which features lobster not worth eating.

Summary of Food: At this rate, I do not see your place retaining regulars. You need to take a step back and take some of the Rock and Roll OUT of the sushi itself, because a tangy mess of sauces and fried stuff is just not it.

Service: Our server was extremely apologetic even though we sent our food back. But honestly? People give servers way too much flak. They are doing very difficult work and they have to deal with horrible, entitled people that businesses will cater to. I'm tired of the work culture, so, unless there is some kind of wage fraud happening here, I have no reason to give it less than 5.

Atmosphere: The atmosphere and aesthetic you have gone for has been successfully realized. However, I don't understand it, personally. If the atmosphere is better than the food, don't you just want to be a bar at that point?

Overall: Rock N' Roll Sushi is not a good place. The food is exceptionally mediocre or unpalatable. If you are a casual restaurant goer who wants some fried stuff masquerading as sushi, then this place is fine. But, for people who take sushi seriously, save yourself the disappointment.

I don't like to be so brutal like this but I am being honest. I could be wrong but I genuinely feel like if you don't address the food issue, your reviews will only get worse. You aren't going to build a following because none of the elements of the experience there, like the food,...

I placed an order through door dash last night at the location located on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Fayetteville Arkansas. It took my order over 40 minutes to get to (which wasn’t an issue) When my order got was delivered, I noticed that my shrimp roll wasnt in the bag so called the store to let them know that I was missing an item. The young lady that answered the phone cut me off before I could finish my sentence and asked are you calling about the shrimp roll? I responded and said yes I am. She said yeah we realized once the dasher left that we still had it, so yea it’s here. I said OK I guess I will come and pick it up. She responded and said sorry. We’ll see you in a little bit, sweetie. I drove 20 minutes to come and pick up the shrimp roll, when I made it, I was greeted by a young lady with red hair. She asked how she could help me, I stated that I called a few minutes ago about a shrimp roll that was left off of my DoorDash order and then I handed her the receipt. While fiddling with the receipt, she asked what item was left off. I repeated the shrimp roll that I called about. She asked again, which one, I repeated my self for the third time now. The shrimp roll on my receipt. I didn’t receive it. She said oh did you talk to somebody? I said yes, I called when I received my DoorDash order and explained that I didn’t receive that item so I would be on my way to pick it up… The young lady that I spoke with stated that it was still here. The young lady with the red hair then said OK, crumbled up my receipt and asked the staff to remake the shrimp rolls. I wasn’t really satisfied with the customer service at all. I paid through DoorDash to have it delivered and I still had to come and pick up the item from across town and then the staff wasn’t friendly or...

Even though Gracie and Rachel weren't our servers on this visit, we still enjoyed this visit. The manager even created my favorite sushi roll that may be featured either in store or nation wide that consist of tempura shrimp and avocado rolled up then topped with smoked salmon, sliced jalapeños, green olives (optional), sliced cherry drizzled with spicy mayo and wasabi ranch. The Japanese Bagel Roll (smoked salmon) is my favorite as it's their version of the Philly Roll. My son chose the crispy rice and wonton appetizer for us to split as I enjoyed the Thriller and he enjoyed the Hot Hot Honey Roll (limited edition) We both were very satisfied and we definitely will be returning!!

Vegan and vegetarian options here, limited but available! I had the veggie roll, miso soup, and the veggie fried rice meal. My friends and I went all out and ordered lots of food, and sake, celebrated the end of doing a job The vibe here was cool, small joint, big screens tv everywhere playing the music video of the song playing in the restaurant, even in the bathroom lol I love the bench seating and overall we had a great time Great place for an alternative date, and it has a bar, so you could just go get drinks and order cheap tapa like food from their menu
