Cafe Spot — Restaurant in Federal Way

Place was very clean and very bright! The whole decoration remodeling was very eye opening compared to the previous cafe. Kiosk was easy to use, but does not have pictures for all items and there are no customizable options.

Drinks ordered: Chestnut latte ☆☆☆☆☆ sweet and yummy Pistachio latte -faint taste of pistachio Einspanner -bitter coffee with cream, better when mixed Misutgaru latte -very light and nutty

All drinks were iced and all the cream was very yummy! The drink itself is based onr your taste preference. Bc some of us like very sweet or very bitter. The mild drinks were not as sweet as they expected. I enjoyed my sweet hestnut coffee

Honey toast creme brulee was very pillowy and sweet! It felt like it needed ice cream on top, but that's just my sweet cravings talking lol. Needed a nice hot black coffee to go with it.

Kiosk: They don't really say if an item is hot or cold. We ordered lattes and since there was no hot/cold option, assumed they would be hot. Some pictures did show the pretty layers so it makes sense they would come out cold. But not every item has a picture with the name.

However, we did not like the fact there is so much ice inside the cold drinks. This drink is not for ppl who drink fast. Half of us are slow drinkers so we enjoyed it, but the other half finished so quickly and expressed annoyance why there was so much ice and they scolded me for it. I defended myself saying there's no option for less ice. They looked confused and i told them to check the kiosk to prove me wrong. They checked and confirmed no customization and apologized.

If it would be possible to add customization on the kiosk to have less/normal ice options would be great!

Please also indicate which ones are hot or cold. Because not all drinks have pictures.

We went on a Sunday 1/12 in...

I was really hoping to like this cafe as I want to find a nice cafe to just sit down and talk, especially if they offer outdoor seating so I can bring my fur babies with me. However, this cafe was super disappointing the two times I visited. The first was their opening day as I had a coupon from them by following them on Instagram. It was definitely packed and the employees seemed to be rushed and too busy to offer any professional service. Additionally, the menu isn't very detailed and what my boyfriend thought was a hot drink was a slush drink and I asked for light ice but it seemed to do nothing as more than 70% of the cup was just ice. I got maybe 5 sips in and that was it.

The second time, I came here with my mother as she wanted to try them out since they are new and the previous location was where she and her sisters would meet for coffee and talking. This was several months after and they still took much too long to make drinks, like almost 20-25 minutes. Service also hasn't changed, no greeting or service. If anything, they seem to just assume people use the kiosks, even though I noticed there were people waiting at the cashier counter to be helped. Anyways, we weren't expecting to wait that long and we also got the cheesecake with our drinks, and at that point, I felt it would have been better to just give us the cakes as it was hard to bring all of it to the table by myself. They don't even offer trays. Definitely not a cafe to stay for a while or to make your stay comfortable. They also again ignored my light ice request and I barely got any sips of what was a decent drink. The cheesecake was alright too but nothing memorable or worth getting again here, I know other cafes that offer it. The remodel is the only really good thing about this cafe, but everything is lacking...

When you first enter, it gives more of a spa feel. Of the fresh feeling and incorporation of plants. Generous seating inside. This place was high on my daughter‘s bucket list so we had to drive all the way from the UW Seattle campus in Seattle down to Federal Way to check it out. She was just bummed there’s not a closer location. There are a ton of drink options no worries if you don’t like tea as there’s a variety of other options, including refreshers and smoothies. We decided to also sample a few of the treats. The honey bread tasted almost like the most perfect slice of French toast, but even better, but without being completely soaked in the egg batter. Absolutely sinfully, delectable and highly recommend it.It was crispy on the outside and very fluffy on the inside. We also ordered the chestnut cream latte and the cookies and cream smoothie. The first sip was absolute perfection my cookies and cream smoothie taste like getting the perfect bite of an Oreo dipped in milk. The macaroons were also surprising and really tasted truly like the cereal they were inspired by. Bring your patience while there’s a parking lot.
