Dear Fenton Hotel Management,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit to your establishment. I have had my fair share of dining experiences, but never before have I encountered such terrible treatment and utter lack of respect.
From the moment I stepped into your restaurant, it was clear that something was amiss. The server assigned to my table treated me with blatant disregard, showing no interest in taking my order or addressing any of my concerns. Their indifference was evident, leaving me feeling unimportant and neglected.
To my dismay, matters only worsened when I sought assistance from your manager, Mark. Not only was he unhelpful, but he also displayed a shockingly rude and sarcastic attitude towards me. As someone who has always been polite and respectful, I was taken aback by his unprofessional behavior. Instead of addressing my concerns and attempting to rectify the situation, he exacerbated it with his dismissive and offensive remarks.
As a loyal customer, it pains me to write such a negative review, as I have never felt the need to do so in my entire life. However, the mistreatment and insults I endured during my time at the Fenton Hotel cannot be ignored or forgiven easily. No individual, regardless of their age or background, should ever be subjected to such disrespect.
I sincerely hope that you take my feedback to heart and use it as an opportunity to improve your establishment's customer service. It is crucial to foster an environment where all patrons feel valued, appreciated, and treated with dignity. I implore you to address this matter seriously, investigate the incident thoroughly, and take appropriate actions to ensure that no other customer experiences the distress and humiliation that I endured.
It is my hope that you will not only rectify the service issues I encountered but also take measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. I trust that the Fenton Hotel will rise above this disappointing episode and reestablish itself as a place known for excellent customer service and...
Read moreI was visiting from Florida and a very good friend suggested that we go to the Fenton Hotel Tavern. From the outside it has very good curb appeal. It's a very unassuming building that has a lot of character. The inside has a very old feeling, but it seems to be well kept. You're greeted at the "Hotel Reception" desk. No fancy computers, visible just a host. We went on a Friday night so there was a bit of a wait. We decided to grab a drink a few spots down while waiting. Not sure if they take reservations, but I would highly recommend calling first to see. I'm glad we waited instead of using option 2. We asked for the bar, and had a really good experience. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. They had live entertainment that was fun, and not overdone. The bar had a very cool look to it. I was impressed by the menu options. I had the Fryed Fish special. I wouldn't normally do so, but I have never tried lake perch before. The Caesar salad was good. There were 3 different types of fish, and all of which were fried a different way. I was very impressed by that approach. I think they nailed the proper coating for each fish. The walleye had a crispy almost cornmeal crust, the cod had a tempura style batter, and the perch was a simple flour batter. All were very good, and fresh. I chose the red potato mashed, and the were very flavorful. My friend had the lobster mac and cheese. I wasn't extremely impressed by that dish. Decent portion, nice crust on top, cheesey, but very little lobster meat present. Mac and cheese could have used a little sharper cheese, but that's a personal preference. In summation: Great ambiance Affordable quality food Good service Great experience I would...
Read moreHave been a patron of the Fenton Hotel for 25+ years. Went there Saturday 09/04 7:00PM, party of 6 seating on the bar side.
Ordered drinks including 3 of their signature Woodford Blueberry Manhattans listed on their dinner menu. The waitress came back saying that they only had enough to make 2 of the 3 ordered and it would take a little bit to make more of the Blueberry infused Woodford. So we switched 1 of them to a regular Manhattan.
Ordered dinner; Lake perch, seafood fettuccini, 2 fish & chips and 2 char grilled flank steaks. Waitress came back saying that they were out of flank steak. Switched the flank steak to a beef stroganoff and a Leroy St Salad.
Entertainment started playing (so loud that all conversations at the table had to stop).
Ordered 3 more Woodford Blueberry Manhattans. Waitress came back saying that they weren't going to make any more Blueberry infused Woodford that evening.
Food came; Lake perch, beef stroganoff, seafood fettuccini and Leroy St salad were just OK. Fish had no texture (very mushy inside). Fries were tough (had been partially cooked, taken out of the oil and then put back in when they were ordered). Waitress questioned why the fish had less than 1 pc eaten. We explained the problem. She took them off the bill (without being asked). She was pleasant and tried very hard to make it a pleasant evening.
The room is definitely to small a room for entertainment that loud.
Was very surprised that they ran out of some of their signature items so early. Also surprised that when 2 meals went back to the kitchen pretty much un-eaten that the manager didn't come out to the table.
Will give it a while...
