Been going to Halo Burger for years. Even after they got sold off to Dortch and Dortch ruined 50% of the menu. Went again tonight, knowing the new owners since Dortch ruined it, have been big on made in Michigan products to use. Ordered 3 Boston Coolers.
Now, I'm not sure when they completely ruined the Boston Cooler, but it is NO WHERE the same level it used to be.
It's only two sizes now. REG and LARGE. Ok, not a big deal we'll order a round of regular sizes. $3 each for a regular, so yea it sounded a bit high but whatever. It's a Boston Cooler. How wrong was I. $3 nets you what would equate to a kiddy size drink. Not what would have been an original Halo Burger Medium. Again... not super happy about the rip off in price for what equates to some ice cream and soda pop.
The "Boston Cooler", I use this term lightly. As what ever is being presented now as the "Boston Cooler". Is in fact not at all what has been the Halo Burger staple for decades. What we received was the consistency of soft serve ice cream, that at one time may have glanced at a bottle of Vernors. So it had to guess what it was supposed to taste like.
I'm not sure how anyone can say with any validity that the Boston Coolers are the best. When they aren't even a Boston Cooler. It's a soft serve vanilla milk shake, that has no discernable flavor of Vernors what-so-ever.
Imagine a Boston Cooler, but with 0% Battery. Or, a Vanilla Shake that once got a phone call from a Vernors and can only guess after talking to it, what the flavor was. Or, maybe each ingredient passed one another in the middle of the night, hoping the other would turn around and run back into their lives.
Any of those scenarios may have actually produced a viable, yet still terrible replacement.... and they all would have been better than what ever that is being peddled now as a "Boston...
Read moreTalk about a horrible experience we just had at your restaurant. We had 7 of us eating. Not one single person was in the lobby. We were told the supreme burgers would take 8 more minutes my mother in law asked to hold all of the food until they would be complete so all our food would be warm and not sitting out. We heard an employee complaining “ really they want to hold the other burgers?” “ what’s the deal?” We asked the employee at the front counter if where was a problem she said the cook was speaking about another issue when we clearly heard her as we were at the counter. Then we realized 2 of the burgers didn’t have black olives. One asked and didn’t get one didn’t ask at all. When we asked for the black olives the manager in the back someone got an attitude about if they paid for them they can have them. At this point in time we didn’t care about paying for them or not so we did. The manager then came out questioning if we paid for them or not. Really over a condiment. The manager was extremely rude. I can’t believe you have someone that has zero respect for customer be a manager. She needs to be fired she is causing the other employees to not work in the best interest of your business. This was at the...
Read moreI seen a lot of negative reviews about this Halo burger that didn't make sense to me because usually the food and service is great. Have been back twice now and the bad reviews are accurate, food and service here are terrible. I have had to wait for what seems like forever to get handed cold food. Are they waiting for the food to get cold before they give it to me? And this has happened both of the last two times I have been here. It's like since the McDonald's across the street closed they just gave up. The closest competition is all the way on Owen Rd, so maybe they think they can serve garbage and people will just take it. I have also called the corporate hotline and they don't care either. I don't know what happened to Halo Burger but it has gone way down hill. Maybe this place will close before long and some business that actually cares about it's customers will move in. Here's to hoping. Also, if I could have i would have given...
