Fenwick Pub — Restaurant in Fenwick Island

I really wanted to love this new spot-was excited to try Fenwick Pub today after hearing great things from locals. Unfortunately, the experience left me really disappointed. (I also am not one to write negative reviews and especially reviews for a new business)

We were seated and waited over 15 +minutes with only getting a menu by hostess—no drink order, nothing, and we also had a child with us. Meanwhile, a guest seated after us was quickly served drinks, and others who arrived even later were helped before us. We were clearly visible to the staff and even made eye contact, but no one ever approached us. The air conditioning also wasn’t working, making the space uncomfortable.I would have stayed with the ac situation, but my family of 4 decided that we should leave. (one of us are also local to the restaurant) We received no acknowledgment that we were sitting there and none as we were walking out. During that time somone who just walked in was quickly being attended to.

As a content creator who highlights local gems, and being overlooked doesn’t sit well, especially for a newer restaurant trying to build a reputation. I’m hoping it was just an off day, and I hope this feedback helps the team better care for all their customers in the future. We were excited to try out Fenwick Pub tonight! When we walked in the hostess handed us Happy Hour menus and said they were good until 6. We decided to order several items off of that menu, referring to it as the waitress took our order. The food all tasted good! When our bill came, the items were all at full price. The waitress told us she didn’t know why they gave us those menus, that Happy Hour is only M-F (this was on Saturday). When we said we based our order off of that menu given to us she returned with the bill taking 20% off each Happy Hour item. This was still more than we should have had to pay, not to mention the cost of a drink which also would have been discounted with that menu. We weren’t looking for anything beyond what was listed on the menu…we used the menu they gave us and ordered according. I ordered their hot honey old bay wings, which come in an order of 8. This was the first wing I bit into. It was completely frozen still. Our waitress took them back to the kitchen and then brought the same 7 wings back out that had clearly been thrown back in the fryer, sauce and all. No additional sauce was added so it was all pretty much gone and my frozen wing was not replaced.
