4 of us went for dinner on a Saturday evening. Had reservations, and it was busy, so reservations definitely a must.

Building resembled an older house, turned into a restaurant. Lots of different rooms to be seated in, we were ushered to the back, a very back large room, lots of tables. Room was a bit odd…no windows and no real style, kind of a mishmash of different lights, ceiling fans, wall hangings. Felt bare, definitely not “cozy” as described on their website. There are benches along the walls, and if you get one of these, the tables are very small, barely big enough for 4 people. We asked if we could sit at one of the tables in the middle which also sat 4 and was larger, but were told “these are reserved”…? (So wait…there is another reservation in addition to our original reservation?). Very odd!

One huge downside is the large room we sat in is VERY loud! There are no sound treatments or “soft” items that would help block the echo noise, so it is basically a big square room where the conversation is deafening. The other small dining areas rooms did not have this, so would suggest if you have a hard time hearing in a noisy environment you figure out how to reserve a specific location in addition to your original reservation (which again we had no information that this is an option).

Our waitress was very good, always checking in us and apologizing if she was busy, but very efficient and friendly.

The menu layout is a bit odd, as on page 1 it lists a special appetizer, then special entree’s, then soups, then salads. After that on page 2 oysters and more appetizers, then sandwiches that are continued on page 3 before the main entree’s selections. The nice thing is they have codes next to all the food that lists possible allergens, with an allergy list in back that lists ingredients…nice!

My wife ordered a “field of greens” salad and the shrimp and grits appetizer. The salad is pricey ($15) and when it came out, we saw it is a full sized salad meal…not expected. Same with the shrimp and grits, a normal full sized entree. Would be nice if that was mentioned somewhere, but the prices probably reflect the sizes. Nowhere is it shown you can just get a typical side salad.

The upside was the food was very good! Shrimp and grits were amazing, crab cakes were pretty good, the Cast Iron roasted Cod was very simple, light and fresh, perfect if you don’t want a heavy sauce like is on the shrimp and grits. The sides of roasted asparagus and roasted carrots and potatoes were very good.

Did not order desert as we were more than full from the meal.

Had a bottle of wine with the meal, they do let you know up front if you don’t finish it you can take it with you…that is a nice option if there are just two of you, you want a bottle but don’t want to drink it all.

Prices are high, but of course a seafood place at the beach is going to be up there. Spent around $60 per person including the wine.

Overall while the food was good, probably would try somewhere else next time. Was not bad, just didn’t stand out.

Would I go back…probably not. Would I recommend…sure…just make sure you get a different room to eat in, and understand the appetizers and salads are full...

I just received a response from the owner of nantuckets. "Why the 1-star review? Explain yourself Karen."

WOW! What a incredibly nasty attitude! It's a real shame negative star ratings aren't available because this kind of response to people definitely deserves it.

My husband and I had been going to this restaurant since we moved here years ago. Last month I called and left several messages over a few days to make a reservation for my husband's 70th birthday. Nantuckets never bothered to return any one of those messages.

At the time I decided to just leave the 1 star rating and not write about how they completely ignored a long-time patron's multiple attempts to contact them and make a special reservation for the public to read. Unfortunately the owner has decided to be extremely demeaning and offensive.

So, for the public's benefit, do not waste your time leaving any messages for a reservation here because you most probably won't get your call(s) returned. Also, you could end up encountering a rude,...

Fantastic Dinner at Nantuckets We had a super nice dinner at Nantucket's in Fenwick Island. We called ahead for a reservation, then showed up a bit early, and were seated right away. Our server, Ana, was lovely; warm and attentive, really made us feel welcome. The bar is gorgeous, with Tiffany lamps and cozy wood paneling. Even though it was busy, it felt relaxed and welcoming. If you get there before 6, you can catch happy hour and grab a great seat—definitely worth it for a top-notch martini, craft beer, or cosmo. We started with a French Sauvignon Blanc and a Brooklyn Brewery beer, then shared the scallops and grits appetizer—amazing flavor with just a little kick. For mains, we had the duck with garlic mashed potatoes (get it medium—it’s perfect!) and the lobster shepherd’s pie. Both were generous portions and delicious! We wrapped things up with a peach and blueberry crumble, limoncello sorbet, and coffee. Everything from start to finish was spot on. If you go, ask for Ana—she’s awesome. Highly...

Edit: Second review, first is below. Came back a second time, will never come back again. NY strip was awful, one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had. Service was decent but for what you’re paying, there are FAR better options close by. First review: Cool place, good vibe inside but I wouldn’t say the food and drinks are on par with the pricing. The $50 filet was just average, nothing special about it. The food in general was good but not good enough to justify what they charge. Server was friendly and responsive, welcoming staff when we walked in and friendly bartenders. Overall it’s not a bad place at all, I just think they are overpriced for what it is.
