Some experiences just make you feel better about yourself, others and the world around you. If you want this sensation and a delightful, delicious, and unique eating experience, make your way to the Swan House Tea Room in Findlay. I was fortunate enough to have lunch and high tea on Valentine's Day with my husband and good friends at this lovely, historical place. The new owner and servers were enthusiastic, kind and attentive, explaining everything they brought to us and checking on us frequently. There is such a wonderful selection of teas that it is difficult to choose. We were helped with this too, as different teas were explained to us. We decided on the Swan House blend of vanilla and cinnamon and the vanilla chai teas. Both were very much to our liking. The selection and presentation of the food was thoughtful and beautiful. Everything was so delicious and there was so much food that we couldn't eat it all. I really appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful furnishings in the house. It was all wonderful, but I think the part I enjoyed the most was the beautiful, humble, and joyful presence that the owner and our server exuded. It was evident that they were truly happy that we were there and their purpose was to serve us and give us a wonderful experience. Thank you for that lovely experience. We...
Read moreFirst experience and with a group of 12. Seating was cramped. $25 per plate. Food was mediocre-egg salad on a cussaint? Really? 0ne "scone," which was more like a tea biscuit, per person. Tiny dollops of jam, lemon drizzle or someone of cream with tiny spoons to self serve. All food except the scones were served on a three tier plate system. Strangest salad ever with par boiled potato cubes, green beans, and fresh lettuce all with some sort of pickle flavor. Yuck! Weird open faced mini-sandwich with savory cream cheese topped with radish thinly sliced. "Ran out of individual tea pots so you need to share." UGH! Tea less flavorful than others I've had in the past. Cream was fresh. Waitress was a sweet young ladywith a nice smile. Venue is a nice Victorian home with simple furnishings. Was very clean in dining area, but restroom needed attention both with maintenance and read was overflowing. Frankly, for the price, it needed to be better quality. Maybe we paid for the atmosphere, but if that was the value, I would have expected sterling and bone China. But then again, this was...

We had a wonderful high tea at Swan House! The new decor gives a great atmosphere, especially for a mom’s meet up! The tea is amazing, especially the chai!
One note of caution - if you have a Gluten Free member in your party, be sure to tell them ahead of time when making your reservation. (They do not state that you need to on their site/menu) While they note GF options on their menu, unless you give them notice, they aren’t able to accommodate as well. They also up charge for GF.
They were able to make the two in our party that are GF some options and apologized for not having this stated anywhere and also didn’t up charge for our visit - which we really appreciated. But word of wise for our next visit and to others to definitely let them know/add it in the notes when making a...
