Super 8 is the best hotel around if you are traveling with pets. One of the friendliest and most affordable hotels in the Findlay area. I've lived in most of the local hotels over the past 2 years, while apartment hunting, and have become quite familiar with all of them. Quality Inn is overpriced considering they offer no more than any other hotel here. No pool, no room service, nothing special, just a bed, a toilet and a shower. Quality Inn, for some reason thinks that it can charge up to $250 more per week for the same things you have anywhere else. Not to mention they only have one washing machine for all 200 rooms to share, meanwhile they have 2 full service staff-only laundry rooms that go unused most of the time, while all the guests wait in line, running late for their lives, and wearing dirty clothes because they can't get access to a washing machine. They also won't provide you with the quarters, and instead tell you to put cash in the vending machine, and it will dispense change. But the vending machine gives incorrect change, and mostly nickels and dimes that can't be used in the washing machine. This makes Quality Inn feel like they are doing a good job, and can charge insane prices... Red Roof, and Raodway Inn both claim to be pet-friendly, but are the farthest thing from it. Red Roof charged me for a full week, and told me only after I payed, that I can't leave my dog in the room when I go to work. I said "I can't stay here if that's the case." They said they wouldn't give a refund, and since I lost the money, I couldn't go anywhere else, and had to spend that week in the woods with my dog. Roadway told me that the dog could stay in the room, but when I got back from work one night, my dog was gone. GONE. I found her in the woods behind the hotel. Apparently the staff (who knew I had a dog in the room, went in to clean the room while I was gone, and they left the door wide open, without a care in the world, as they watched my dog wander away. They said "we tried calling to her". MY DOG IS DEAF, AND I TOLD THEM THAT MANY TIMES!!! If you have pets that you care about, avoid these 2 hotels AT ALL COSTS!
SUPER 8, is the only hotel around that you can afford, living paycheck to paycheck, that will actually respect your right to personal privacy, and respect you as a person, and a customer. I have never had any issues with the staff or manager here, like I have had EVERYWHERE ELSE. The people here are kind, patient, and reasonable. The staff does not enter my room if I am not there to answer the door. If they do enter the room, tell me, and let me get my dog out of the room on a leash, the way it should be. When I stay here, I don't have the constant fear that I'm going to lose my dog. There are 4 public washing and drying units, more than anybody else offers, and the same continental breakfast that you will find anywhere else. There is plenty of grass around for walking pets, unlike other hotels that tell you to bring your pets, but are planted in the middle of a concrete landscape, littered with broken glass and heroin needles. This place feels safe and you tell that the people who keep it go to great lengths to keep it well maintained. After 2 years in all of these hotels, I have become completely fed up with all them except this one, and I will not be staying anywhere else, until I get an apartment. I strongly advise everyone looking for a place to stay not waste your time and money at all the other hotels, that act like they offer more, but in fact offer less. SUPER 8 is the ONLY hotel in Findlay OH, that I...
Read moreI'm a travelling merchandiser... So my work puts me in hotels near our assignments. I got put in this one, in Findlay, OH... I checked in today (8/5) before work (I was actually supposed to last night, but I had things to do at home, so it got late and I opted to stay home instead of driving up at midnight)... Anyhow, I get there, get my keys, & take my food up to put in the fridge. I grabbed my work shirt, pants, & the food I'd brought. I put my food up, changed, left for work, leaving nothing in the room besides the food in the fridge. I was in the room maybe 5 mins. TOTAL.
On my lunch break, I drove back to eat & decided to check the room/beds. I found a live bed bug on the box spring, under the bed skirt... Bc, well, they do at least have mattress covers on the mattresses themselves, so they gotta go somewhere else close enough to be able tokk. I'd say they Super 8, you need to invest in more mattress to use for the box springs as well... Bugs don't care where they live, they just prefer to be close to their food source... So yes, people, they will stick around on box springs as well if mattress covers are used to deter them.
Also, my room stunk like it hadn't been cleaned good. That's the best way I can describe it 𤣠I was seriously dreading having to sleep there đ¤Śđťââď¸
Sorry Super 8, I won't lie to people. Also, mattress covers aren't the only preventative measure you can take. I suggest looking up more, and doing ALL of them!! Bc the service you provide hinges on keeping them away. Some may not care about getting them, or feel they checked their room good enough, but more often than not, people will avoid places they've heard have...
Read moreWARNING: SCAM ALERT â DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL
I booked a room through Priceline for $74.97. When I arrived at the hotel, I was charged a second time â an additional $86.20 â for the exact same room. After moving our belongings inside, we discovered a roach crawling across the bed. Disgusted, we immediately requested a refund.
The hotel refunded only the second charge but refused to refund the original Priceline payment, even though we never stayed in the room. When we confronted the front desk, the employee lied, claiming he "couldn't see" the Priceline booking â a complete fabrication. Hotels receive third-party reservations all the time and can absolutely see them.
This led to an exhausting 1.5 hours of back and forth between Priceline and the hotel. Fortunately, Pricelineâs customer service was outstanding â the representative stayed calm, patient, and extremely helpful despite my understandable frustration. She quickly escalated my case, and someone from Pricelineâs higher support team reached out to confirm that my refund would be processed.
While I did ultimately receive a refund, this entire situation raises serious concerns. I strongly believe this hotel may be scamming guests by double-charging those who book through third-party sites and pocketing the extra money unless customers catch it and fight back. Potential customers need to be very careful and watch their bank statements closely.
Save yourself the money, stress, and health risk....
