Parlor Doughnuts — Restaurant in Fishers

I was looking for a donut place while I was in the area and came across Parlor Doughnuts. I normally don’t eat doughnuts since they are so heavy and sweet, but sometimes I have a craving. And when I a place has croissant doughnuts (or cronuts/dossants) those are what I lean towards since they are richer, yet fluffier with the layers and a nice crisp to the outer layer. All of that background out of the way… I saw this place on maps and noticed they specialize in the croissant doughnuts and was like, PERFECT! 🥐+🍩=❤️ The parking lot was not too full, but it was also early morning. Walking up to the door and looking inside, it was very clean, modern, yet classy and hip. The design, decor and atmosphere was very inviting homey feeling. Now to the part people like to hear about… The Doughnuts! So they have a very large selection for the variety of flavors. I didn’t look at each as it was already hard to decide. But without knowing their menu too in depth, I would say flavors of the doughnut itself are going to be the croissant base for the doughnut with a couple variations of fillings or a dietary specific version. The toppings is where it gets fun. They have all of these unique, yet also sought after flavor profiles. I went with a turtle cheesecake one. It was delicious, rich, fluffy, flakey, and loaded with the cream cheese, nuts, chocolate and caramel. With all of that being said, it was NOT overly sweet, which I like. I ate it over the course of an hour because of how rich it was. The prices are a little steep, as I think it is close to 4 bucks each for under a dozen and about 3 bucks each when ordering at the dozen level. If you want a quick cheap donut to grab on the go, this may not be for you. If you want a decadent treat and can sit down, take your time and enjoy it, this is it. Hands down!! This isn’t a spot to pick up for a group of kids but a place to take the kids to as a treat every now and then. Or even an easy, casual breakfast date. I totally recommend this place! If you haven’t tried it, you should. Not sure if they have more cake like donuts, but if that’s what you’re after, maybe more options out there. But for the foodies, quality food/dessert consumers, best bet! Only critique… with the size of the doughnut, I think that maybe layering this doughnut (or maybe I should try a filled version) would be a good idea to try to make sure you get enough of the sweetness in each bite. There is plenty on top, but there is also a big doughnut base on the bottom. But that isn’t even a ding, as this is delicious. Looking forward to trying the other...

Service was odd...came in to get vegan donuts. Older lady with brown hair & glasses said she could help. When I told her I was looking for vegan ones, she pointed at the display saying they're pretty much over there. Then when she started taking my order, she had me read off of a list that wasn't very descriptive (got carnival & she had an attitude like: which one do you want we have three flavors...never been here before) and then told me it would be a few minutes because they had to make them. Which confused me of why she even pointed to the case of donuts insinuating those were vegan. And then got mad that I chose not to get my receipt printed. It was a really weird experience. So. Not a very good first impression of PD. And the vegan donuts are so disgusting, they are so small and they pretty much disintegrate in your mouth. This is the weirdest donut I've ever had. I will not be back. Probably will contact about getting...

These croissant doughnuts have dethroned almost all other spots.

I saw this pop up on my feed about a place I needed to try. We decided to go...and I don't know why I didn't go sooner. The texture is different from most donuts. They are more croissant like a Cronut.. IYKYK... Now, they offer vegan options, which I did not get this time, but I will update this review.

Pros Small batch made so fresh options throughout the day Their latte did offer almond/oat milk as options for a latte... which was great! They were helpful in explaining things on their menue Great location in fishers!

Information Note powdered sugar are on the donuts, honestly the donuts are so good they don't need the extra sweetness. Just text one without it vs with it
