This small local gem has been a cornerstone of stability in my routine during COVID. It's got a cozy Parisian cafe vibe with a charming gift selection, including products from some local makers. The coffee is consistently great and the pastries are incredible (I've tried almost everything on the menu). Everyone I've interacted with has been kind and provided excellent service.

It's easy to see that significant care has been put into the crafting an design of the space; I come every week and something small has shifted every time - perhaps seasonal decor, a new gift section, or a seasonal item on their blackboard menu.

On top of all that, they've done a great job navigating COVID. They have been perfectly clear from the start regarding their safety measures and boundaries as a business. Hand sanitizer is available and the COVID safety measures (such as line markers) are easy to follow and have been beautifully integrated into the design of the space. As such, I have always felt perfectly safe patronizing this coffeehouse.

Being greeted by a friendly and familiar face each week and enjoying a coffee and a pastry in their outside seating has provided a soothing sense of normalcy and routine that I can't overstate. I'm grateful to Cedar House for staying open and keeping our bellies filled and hearts warm...

This bakery has THE best coffee and pastries in Flagstaff and we're SO lucky it's in the neighborhood - there's no need to go anywhere else!! Unfortunately, we literally cannot go if we're on any sort of time crunch. Depending on who is working, the lack of hustle is borderline disrespectful. Today finally inspired us to leave a review - we waited 20 minutes for one coffee with just 3 drinks ahead of us. One employee walked off as soon as the drink orders came in, leaving the other to handle pastry orders. When she came back, both chatted for a few minutes then seemed to remember there were orders waiting. They kept chatting while one started making a drink. We checked in, were told ours was up next, and then they turned back and continued chatting. Two slow drinks later, we got our coffee. What was meant to be a mid-workday treat ended up being a really frustrating experience that caused one of us to be late to a meeting (we really should've just left, but it's so hard to make that call). While a coffee shop should never be faulted for long wait times when slammed, it's pretty upsetting when a long wait is due to the employees not taking their...

I think I just ordered the wrong thing, because it was too sweet for me and tasted just like melted ice cream. EXTREMELY DELICIOUS, but I should have ordered the Lavender Latte--my cousin's drink, which was a perfect blend of coffee, fat (milk), sweetness, and herbal (lavender) flavor. Perfect for those who actually like the taste of black coffee. Pastries taste FRESH as hell, highly reccomend anything topped with fruit.

It's very nicely decorated, but feels very gentrified. Of course, I am not native to the area, so maybe it's just my pretentious Phoenix perspective clouding my judgement. They played decent smooth jazz/bossa nova music at a reasonable volume, and the stools weren't uncomfortable. Great place for people watching, staring out the window, reading, or otherwise spending time quietly with yourself or a friend.

Service was phenominal. Just one woman out front running the show and staying composed and on top of things. All while being polite and attentive! As well as tolerant of my and my cousin's stupid questions. I hope she gets...

I went on a recommendation from a coworker. The atmosphere inside is very nice and they have a wide selection of items. Even a bunch of cool crafts for sale. Unfortunately, I think we maybe had a bad run this time. My wife and I didn't quite know what we wanted and after some recommendations from the staff I ordered a frappuccino and chai tea but got two chais. No big deal for me because my wife got what she ordered, though she thought it was way too sweet. We also got two pastries, mine was a chocolate and banana one, which I discovered was also filled with liquid chocolate when it leaked through the to go bag all over my pants. Finally as others have pointed out there is no public restroom available here. They recommend you use the one across the street at Safeway. They also want you to park at Safeway if you plan on staying to enjoy your coffee and food. I'll definitely give it another try but the parking and bathroom situation basically guarantees that I won't actually stay here to enjoy the food or drinks.

I've been coming to Cedar House for a few years. The coffee and pastries are consistently excellent and high quality. The interior decor is inviting and relaxing. The staff is well-trained and friendly. The prices are in-line with Flagstaff café prices, which might be slightly shocking to out-of-towners. Cedar House is out of my way compared with other coffee houses, but I'll occasionally make the trip because of the amazing homemade pastries. The one thing that keeps me from coming more, however, is the fact that they have no plates, real silverware or coffee mugs. Everything is served in to-go cups, plastic or paper. For the prices we pay in Flagstaff, why not give customers the option of something sustainable and higher quality? When I ate my warm danish in-house today, I make a mess trying to cut it up with a cheap spork on a napkin.

Not a good experience overall. We were visiting Flagstaff and decided to try the “top-rated” coffee shop in Flagstaff but wow we were disappointed. We ordered a number of pastries and a peanut butter choc frozen/blended frappe. Everything just tasted…bbad. The frappe was completely tasteless, the garlic pastry was gross, we literally had to spit it out! The banana chocolate pastry was cold (the barista didn’t offer to wam anything up either - not that it would’ve made much of a difference honestly). We also ordered the pumpkin vanilla bread which was okay and edible. We got some weird stares too which made for an uncomfortable experience. I know Flagstaff isn’t diverse but still doesn’t justify stares. Our cashier/barista wasn’t super friendly either. Overall, definitely NEVER going back.
