When I worked at Red Robing, they use to have "Guest Voice" surveys and we were mandated at my store to have at least two submissions/entries per shift. I think they need to bring this rule back because the service last night was so bad, it was almost awkwardly comical. I can only describe it as the waitress (Leeya) was literally hired an hour before dinner rush and literally looked like a deer in headlights the entire time we were there. Again I've worked at Red Robin (not this location) before, so I know the training process is thorough and you need to shadow people before being on your own at all ( they use to make people expedite before being a server). But she had no knowledge of the menu, complained that there were "too many" menu items/beers on tap to keep track of and that she had only been here for a couple of weeks. I get it's a lot to learn. You would go to say something or be in the middle of saying something and she'd walk away. Sometimes she'd walk away to interrupt other services greeting their tables. She had no social awareness or etiquette. That being said, there were two main issues that stemmed from her lack of training.
If this location had a "secret shopper" or a regional manager looking to see if the staff was carding younger people during an alcohol sale, this young lady would be in a lot of trouble. She not only never asked to see our licenses, when I held it out to her she literally had no idea she was suppose to check it.
She was so unsure about what was on the menu, that if I had an allergy I don't know if I could have eaten what was placed in front of me confidently. I don't even know if she wrote down the order, but she came back twice asking if we had put our orders in. As a customer, how do you respond to that? You're the waitress, I shouldn't be micromanaging you to see if our order was placed in the computer? But regarding the "not writing orders down" I can only imagine the horror for any manager on duty, if she served the wrong item to someone and they had gone into a severe anaphylactic episode.
I don't want her to lose her job, but I think her lack of care/concern should be brought to the attention of the management staff because if she is not checking IDs she could accidentally sell alcohol to a minor. If she's not knowledgeable about the menu/not writing down pertinent information such as an allergy issue, someone might have medical emergency that could have been completely avoidable.
I won't reach out to Guest-support@redrobin.com at this time, but I've been to this location enough times to know that this was not normal for...
Read moreIf you have food allergies do not go to this location. I was assured they had allergen training and could safely provide me a birthday meal.
The 1st red flag was the waitress was trying to tell me things were gluten free management confirmed weren’t. (I called ahead). The manager corrected the waitress.
I went ahead and ordered my gluten free meal. The person I was with does not have celiac disease and can have gluten. Their burger had lettuce on it. The only thing I had on mine was ketchup, mustard, (maybe pickle) and cheese. (To prevent cross contact) I was additionally told everything was grabbed from the back fresh for my meal.
Halfway through my meal, I found a piece of lettuce in my French fries.
This was extremely alarming considering nothing I ordered had lettuce, and all my food was supposed to have been taken from the back with fresh gloves, only prepared by 1 person trained in allergy safety.
The manager was told and here’s the 2nd red flag, well lettuce isn’t gluten.
While yes, I don’t have a reaction to the lettuce, How did that piece of lettuce get there if someone was properly sanitized and only handling my food? She had no answer. Unfortunately for me, that’s exactly what happened and I was ill from it. Someone was careless and was not careful with my food prep, handling gluten and then handling my “gluten free dish” which unknowingly to me was no longer gluten free. I did stop eating as soon as I saw the lettuce as the meal could not be trusted.
If they could not accommodate - they had more than enough time and warning to tell me. I spoke with the manager and asked her many questions before I even decided to come into the establishment.
I reached out to them to try and get in contact with the owner, it’s been 2 months and no response. I would not go here if you have food allergies...
Read moreWe went back for the first time in years with our daughter so 3 people. We all ordered a burger of different choice, 1 appetizer of fried pickles which i don't eat and my wife couldn't eat as they were so full of pepper it was unbearable, my daughter got a dessert pear cream soda which didn't look like The picture at all and wasn't really good, i was going to get an old fashioned but the server told me they usually DIDN'T HAVE THE INGREDIENTS for that one and to choose another which i couldn't because i can't drink carbonated drinks due to bariatric surgery and I only drink whiskey. so i ended up ordering an Oreo milkshake which i didn't enjoy as again my Bariatric surgery make me lactose intolerant. My wife got the rum punch drink and can't find it online of course I can't see the alcoholic menu online. It was ok, my daughter got the mushroom and Swiss burger it was ok morning spectacular just a burger, my wife got the cheesy bacon fondue burger and it was good but didn't realize it was almost 20 bucks for a burger with a small cup of cheese and i got my usual chili cheese burger and it was good but slightly burnt and the chili was dry
but the problem with all this is the fact than all this added up to $93 with tip and taxes. We can go to saganos for about $15 more and that's ridiculous. We save saganos for birthdays and special occasions, the fact that the burgers are 14,15,18$ each is ridiculous, going to a burger joint should not cost $100 for 3 people
we will not be going back for this specific reason and the fact that if i wanted to have an adult drink i can't because they never have the ingredients for the 1 drink i like, the food was ok but not great and is in now way a reason to be that expensive. I would not expect a burger joint to be...
