Waffle House — Restaurant in Florida City

Waffle house should be renamed waffle home, because when you're tired, beat up, or just need a place to sit for awhile.....waffle house is there. I had been awake since the day before working my first job and had a sushi roll the day before, got off my first job to put on my suit and go to the second with just a shower and hygiene. No water all through work no food, 24hrs plus awake with no food water and on my feet continuously. I drive home wanting food and try to stop at texas roadhouse which was slam packed. Falling asleep and just hungry I turn and see it right behind there............Waffle house.. I shuffle over, sit down, attended immediately and sweetly. Food was cooked ready and fast steaming and well made within 5 minutes. Tender smiles, focus on making sure I'm OK but not overcrowded like when you see someone you cared about took on the world and lost so you give them what they need and let them Breath till they're ready for you. Quiet........just people on their paths and workers making sure we get there. The cook gave me a bigger plate knowing my food would be messy, just the small considerations that know they're a master of their craft. I go to pay, and the very sweet young lady says, "get home and rest", I say is it that noticeable, she sheepishly smiles I say thank you and go on. By the time I finish texas roadhouse told me my table was ready, just so I could be Elbow to elbow with people loud bustling and just trying to throw food on my plate to cycle me out. I drove home tired as all he'll. But full and ready for bed.. Say what you want.......waffle house is always there, and regardless of whatever different colored characters are there your table is always ready. Thats me after 16 hrs of work with 3 more to go (pre waffle home) using my work break at job 2 to take off my shoes for a sec before finishing my shift. That food meant more than they knew. From a tike to now they've always been there. Tip your waiters well. Respect the...

Today was our 2nd attempt to eat at this Waffle House location in Homestead Florida since our 1st attempt about 1 year ago was a fail due to an extensive wait time.

This time we arrived at 1:45pm. Parking was easy & there was nobody waiting inside. There was 1 available table that needed to be cleaned so the 3 of us stood waiting for about 5 minutes near the counter until one of the staff members addressed us & we indicated we would like to dine in & were waiting for the table to be cleaned. We then sat down on chairs lined up against the glass wall until 2:01pm that the table was cleaned. While waiting those 16 minutes for the table to be cleaned we were able to enjoy the inappropiate conversations among several employees which provided abundant diversity in terms of choice curse words.

When the table was cleaned, one of the employees decided to sit at it to enjoy a beverage and after a couple of minutes was asked to stand up so we could use the table.

We finally sat down at 2:05pm & continued to enjoy the ambiance which was now provided in a front row seat since they were now much closer to us.

After sitting for another 5 minutes & now also having a visual of the staff member who had sat down at our table to enjoy his beverage clean his teeth with his nails in addition to the cursing, obnoxious laughter, etc, my wife & I made that telepathic connection & sinchronized our muscles to stand up simultenously & exit the establishment at which time all of the sudden it became quiet.

I never looked back but I am sure they realized what had happened.

We will never come to this location again & I do not recommend anyone does unless you enjoy this...

We placed our order and the server started giving us our plastic ware. However, as she was about to place it in our table one fell to the floor; to my surprise she picked it up and placed it on our table. As soon as I caught that lack of higiene I immediately brought it to her attention. She grabbed the plastic ware and threw the replacement on the table. It infuriated me and I immediately told her that I no longer wanted her to continue serving our table. Then, I over heard telling other employees that we didn’t want to be waited by her! I wonder why instead she didn’t mention the reason as to why!!! My husband wanted to leave immediately; however I convince him not to. It is very disappointing to us that we go out to have a nice time out as a family and we encounter so much rudeness from an employee that has horrible customer service!!! By the way her name is Charlotte. I addressed this to the manager on-site and he told me that he was going to bring it to her attention. That said, we are having second thoughts...
