A little disappointing. They were unprepared for an event that happens every year. Our bill was rather high for a market price prime rib that was way over done and a New York strip that was tough and no taste. We waited 30 minutes to even be served and the busser got us bread after I asked because we were so hungry. Our server, Eric, was wonderful after he was able to catch a breath to even take care of us. The money we spent was unreasonable after what we experienced plus the quality of food.
UPDATE 2023 This year was no different regarding food and service. This restaurant is clearly unprepared to take care of large events. Management may think they are but they are not. For any large event, extra staff should be hired so that the servers are not overwhelmed with chaos which BTW was overheard from one of the staff saying that night was chaotic.
Our waiter took our order and completely disappeared without any notice. Our salads were brought before our appetizers. When questioned, the response was like "Oh...you ordered appetizers?" We canceled that part of the order. The $40.00 prime rib was way overcooked and sent back only to receive another that was unbelievably tough especially for a prime rib. The chicken francese was tasty but sadly the pasta was served with meat sauce. Who does that? When I mentioned it I was told it will only take a minute to switch it. Great. I was going to just accept it but let her take it. When my pasta arrived it was "SWIMMING" in lemon sauce and completely unacceptable. Did I eat? Of course I did...after I drained it. The whole meal was a disappointment but strangly enough, no surprise. I am thankful for food. This is not being written by a person who is intolerant or fussy about food but when you have a night out and are spending a lot of money, you hope for a nice time without worrying about what is being served. I will never spend another penny at Capri restaurant in...
Read moreWas so looking to eating here, well let's start. The soup was amazing. Minestrone was great. Worth the trip really. After that, not so much. So don't know who dropped the ball but, after the soup it was over 30 min till our meals showed up. Before I describe what came out, let me give you some back ground, I am a classical trained chef. I have worked for serveral 4 star restaurants, I only cook for family and friends now. I also believe that making something from scratch is the best way. I cooked prime ribs every weekend for several years. Also worked with chef James Mulandro cooking some of the best italian food ever in florida. So when I say I know what went wrong I am speaking with a high level of understanding from a kitchen and chef perspective. My prime rib was cut and sat in the kitchen under a heat light for the 30min we waited, how do I know. Well I ordered it rare to med rare. Was told can only do med rare. It was med well, grey and dry on the outside which is what happens when you put it under a heat lamp. Wasn't even asked if everything was okay, food was dropped off and waiter ran away. Now on to my wife's plate, the sauce was okay, not great, not overly awesome, just okay. I would say olive garden does better. The chicken she had was over cooked, the stuffed shells were bland. I would say if you want to experience a restaurant stuck in the 90s with recipes to go with it this is your place. I have always heard such good things about this place and was excited to try it. Maybe that's why I am so disappointed with the food. It did not live up to expectations. 3 stars only cause the soup was good. Btw if the staff read this. Instead of standing around and watching your wait staff run like crazy, see if you can help, your standing watching for the 30min my food died is probably why I...
Read moreI read the good reviews and I decided to take my Mother and Daughter for dinner, we had the absolute worst experience. Upon entering it felt as if we were profiled by the staff, don’t know if it was because we were under dressed to them (no dressed code listed on the website) or because we are Hispanic but we were treated differently from the rest of the patrons who were Caucasian. There was a older gentleman who appeared to be the General Manager who approached every table to ask if they were doing well, expect ours. When our food was brought to us, my Mother’s steak was not cooked to the temperature she requested, we had to send it back but worst of all my steak had a hair on it. When I called the waiter over, he took the plate back to bring me a new steak. The General Manager who was by the kitchen door appeared to ask him what happened and didn’t bother to come to our table to apologize or offer anything to rectify the situation. When the waiter returned with my “new plate”, they had the audacity to bring me back the same plate with THE HAIR STILL ON IT!! When I pointed it out to the waiter, he had the nerve to say there was no hair on the plate, I literally had to put it in his face! He once again took it back. Pretty sure he brought me back the same steak. The steaks tasted old. The food was nothing special. No one apologized, no one offered a discount for the horrible service, the GM stood there and didn’t even come speak to us once, despite being made aware of the hair on my plate, he just stood there and did nothing. When we left they literally locked the doors as soon as we walked out! We felt we were definitely discriminated against. I was appalled at the horrible service we received, we will never return to this establishment and I wouldn’t recommend for anyone to visit...
