Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Florida City

My family and I are regulars here, but it's about to change. I am sure they will continue to get plenty of business but that's okay because it won't be on my dime.

Went here with a party of 9 on a Saturday night about 8:30 pm, called ahead to join waitlist, checked in upon arrival and got seated within a reasonable amount of time (20 mns). So far so good....

The half circular booth we were seated at was very tight, maybe good for 9 kids...

Our server Silvio is very skilled at what he does, upbeat and caring.

We got drinks on time... Then dove right in for entrées....at this point they knew that kitchen is backed up so a fair warning could've been the decent thing to do. We could've asked for some share appetizers or more bread... We had 3, 6, 13 and 15 year old young ones with us. After 35 mns of no food, or additional bread offerings, Silvio says we are running 45 mns ticket... And we have 10 more mins to go.. He apologized and all.... Very decent gentleman....

After an hour and 10 mns our food started to arrive... Only half the table got their food and we were told the rest will be out shortly, the kitchen almost has them ready...we asked can the 2 remaining kids (3 and 6 year olds) at least get their food while half of the table wait? They complied thankfully.... 10 mns after that the other half got our food... To our surprise the food was lukewarm and pretty much died... My steak had a dry surface.... Room temp on the outside and luke warm on the inside... Which tells me the food just sat at the pass and was not brought out fresh....

Lisa, the manager had came right after as the first half of the table got their food... She approached with a smile and said (as if all is fine and dandy) if there is anything I can get you please let me know.... We had to tell her, actually remind here the wait is unacceptable and then she agreed as if this was news to her... Apparently kitchen was understaffed.... We also heard, they were surprised that the kitchen made it this far tonight....Lisa's interaction and apology did not seem genuine as she did not address the excessive wait directly from the beginning and we had to tell her about the wait... She needs to learn that scripted Disney-like smile behavior is insulting in these moments.... We had to ask and pry information out of her as to why the food took so long. Baked potato had bacon, even though we mentioned several time.. Ours is a pork free diet.

Two of our family kids had birthdays and we had intended to celebrate there... But didn't want to be subjected to more shambles so didn't mention anything.... We got out of there close to 11 pm... Way too long and gruelling especially for the kids...

Not retuning again... I am not that...

I've been to Texas Roadhouse multiple times, mostly in Lake City, FL, but I have been to this Texas Roadhouse twice already and it is one of my favorite places to go eat! The first time I went, my mother and I ordered the sirloin, she got a 6 oz and I got an 8 oz and when they came, I was concerned because they looked really similar in size. Having been in culinary, I also knew that beef shrinks when you cook it, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Management was walking around and talking to guests and when she stopped by to speak with us, my mom brought up the size to her. I said it was no big deal but she immediately offered to have another one brought out, to which I declined because my steak was perfectly wonderful. She actually sat down and talked with us for almost 10 minutes, she was extremely accommodating and kind and very funny too! The second time we went was just last week and I had a waitress who has the same first name as mine and we all immediately bonded over that. Stephanie was funny and very outgoing and extremely attentive, not just to us but to the other guests in the area. And we were having such a good time that I actually forgot that I hadn't received my drink and when I notified her of that, she immediately sprung into action and someone brought me my Raspberry Sweet Iced Tea (deliciousssssss!). And of course, she was on top of topping off my drink for the rest of the time we were there. We were barely there for 40 minutes before we were done eating and out the door (We got there a little before 9 and they close at 10) but it felt like we were there longer because of how much fun we were having! We just ordered some Texas Take Out, which I have no doubt will be just as delicious at home as in the restaurant and we plan on going back very soon. The problem I have is that their bread is magical and pulls a disappearing act......

Amazing service with excellent food. Since we moved to this area almost two years ago, we have visited 4 times. The staff is the friendliest you'll in the restaurant business. You feel welcome the minute you walk thru the door. The employees have a smile on their face you get the feeling that they really appreciate and enjoy their job.

Our waiter was Maritza and she was very helpful and nice. Not once did we have to ask for water or sodas as she would bring a new glass before they were empty. She brought freshly baked complimentary dinner rolls twice without us asking for them. (If you've never had the bread here with their cinnamon butter, I'd tell you that it's reason enough to visit)

I want to mention something that would normally be a negative experience...

I ordered my Rib Eye medium rare and it came well done. The meat was still very juicy and tasty and I had no intention of complaining. But the floor manager Janet came by to ask how things were. I replied everything is great but the steak is a bit overcooked. Immediately she apologized and wanted to bring out a new one. Maritza also insisted multiple times to have my steak replaced. I told them it wasn't a big deal and that I was going to eat it the way it was. The point of my story is that anyone can make a mistake but the level of customer care here is fantastic and they immediately wanted to make me happy.

I still got a small discount on my bill although I didn't request it.

Thanks to the team at Texas Roadhouse for always exceeding our expectations. Maritza and Janet you were great 👍
