Arbetter's Hot Dogs — Restaurant in Florida

I am a repeat customer, the food, the employees I like it. Been spending my money there for a few years. However, today you guys blew it big time. I do not know his name but to the older employee that was behind the register today 07-28-2020, this is for you.

There was a hispanic black man begging out side your store who eventually entered behind me to continue begging. he was walking up to people standing in line and on 2 occasions I told him to get back ref. social distancing. you know, codiv -19. This same man walked over to the counter in order to get you attention and other employees as he was placing his dirty hands, forearms, elbows all over the counter next to where I was near the register.

I placed my order, and asked this elder man, if he could give me my order at the opposite side of the counter far away from the homeless man. I did this after looking around and saw no cleaning items anywhere on site. You sir, ignored my request! you gave me my soda and placed it on the same dirty counter the homeless man was rubbing his body on seconds before. I brought it to your attention and you still ignored me.

i asked the man to move away from me, received my hot dogs and I walked outside to eat. Once again, I was given my order next to the homeless man. After I was outside eating, I saw no one clean the counter, nor tell the man to leave, social distancing, was for sure not being practiced. and in today's corona virus pandemic that is unacceptable. you guys need to get with the program. I will not not return to your store for a long time if...

I don't usually write reviews but I had the write one this time. I've been coming to ARbetters since I was a kid I went to Coral Park and my girlfriend at the time went to Southwest. I'm not going to say anything about the high school kids running it but at the end of the day it's a family place so they should have a little bit more courtesy in reference to what they talk in front of the customers their are kids around that don't need to listen to that kind of stuff but their high school kids so whatever. Literally this is the first time I can say that I received bad food from there and I'm a mechanic so trust me oil and dirt don't bother me but man I've ate the same menu item but this time I paid the price for it. So all young kids running that back it up with food quality. Hey listen I'm not writing a review to knock on your business I love your business it's literally a Hot Dog shop with emotional ties to my childhood. So I don't know who reads these reviews but I hope the owner gets it and makes the proper changes in the food handling because man I would hate just to go in there just to drink soda. Update 11/30/2021 I spoke to Johnny the manager there and was assured this is not how they do business. I am pleased to know that the issues I had will be corrected and that my next experience will be better. Thanks for hearing me out.

I visited today 11/28/2021 and had to change my previous 5 star rating to a 1 star rating. The guys by the griddle station were completely screwing around, the employee from the hotdog build station had to keep telling them to help him and customers. Now my biggest issue was with the employee with the designer glasses, I asked for a refill and he seemed bothered by my request. He did refill my cup but instead of handing it back to me, he placed it on the other side of the counter and didn't even acknowledge me. It's sad because Arbetter's has always been a friendly place and today that changed. I've been a customer for over 30 years and I took my 2 year son there for the first time.
