The complimentary bread basket? š„ā A definite miss in our book - consistently left behind by us as we moved on to tastier delights. But hey, who needs the carbs when the main course is calling your name, right? Let's just say, it's a good thing the rest of the menu totally makes up for it! Artur's Restaurant excels in both Polish specialties like pierogies and kielbasa, and American favorites such as burgers and seafood. I had the lasagna this time at the recommendation of my dining partners. Healthy and vegetarian options are available as well. Families are more than welcome, with a dedicated kid's menu and highchairs available for the little ones.
Service: The staff is friendly and usually attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience, but can be spotty.

After about a 15 minute wait our waitress came over and informed us that the restaurant was extremely busy. After another wait she took our drink order. Shortly after the drinks were delivered. Around 6:15 we asked for some bread. We received one piece of bread each and only a few of us received plates (bowls) for the bread. Our dinner order was taken at 6:30. At that time a few of us ordered a second drink. Twenty minutes later the waitress showed up to inform one of the ladies that her dinner request was no longer available. We inquired about our drinks and she said, āgive them to me againā. At 7:15 I went to the hostess stand and met with one of the owners. I explained about the problem with the drink order and the fact that some of us have been there for almost two hours and that we still have not received our salads. She apologized but certainly did not seem concerned about what we were experiencing. This is where the owners failed miserably. Myself and another fellow in our group have worked in the restaurant business for combined 80 years. Both of us are the least likely person to complain about service or maybe not a great meal. We both always give the restaurant some leeway when there are issues. Things donāt always go smoothly and there can be problems. Iāve been there. How the server or restaurant handles the problem goes a long way towards how the customer feels when they leave. When the owner realized what we were experiencing she immediately should have come to our table, apologized to the group and probably say, āIām so sorry for the delay, let me buy you folks a drink or maybe an appetizer while youāre waiting for your saladā. Just after 7:30 with still no salads in sight, eight of us had enough and walked out. I stopped by the hostess stand and explained to the other owner why we were leaving. To be honest, he didnāt seem that concerned either. Being short staffed is not an excuse. You take reservations for only what the wait and kitchen staff can handle. I want to make it clear, Iām not looking for a freebie. What the owner should have done (and what Iāve done when a customer left the restaurant really unhappy) is call the next day and say, āIām sorry for your experience last night. Please let me make you another reservation. We promise...
Ā Ā Ā Read more1st time here and I think 2nd or 3rd for my MiL. I know this is tough times because of COVID, so you do what you can, but I was a bit unnerved/put off as this was the first restaurant I saw in a long time where the servers didn't wear masks or had them easily accessible, and whether they are vaccinated or not, you don't know just by looking. When handling food during these times you'd think safety comes first. I personally wouldn't have ate here knowing servers, staff, or customers were not at all wearing masks or didn't seem to have any at the ready, nor sat at a table next to party of 12-14 or so, but I wasn't alone, so not my choice. I just felt very uncomfortable. So, trying to put it past me, on with with the food...
The food: Menu seemed overpriced to me, but I thought the food was going to be great so I didn't think to much and ordered the half rack or ribs at if I remember $17.99 and my MiL the pork chops at a bit more possibly $19. Now, jumping ahead, I was later told the chef was by himself so he did what he could. So, continuing on, when we got our dinner much later, didn't time it was it felt as though it may have we'll have been over 30-45 minutes. A table who sat down ahead of us got their dinner first. When the pork chops finally arrived, the outside looked fine, but the inside was raw. Not exaggerating, it was translucent pink. Sent it back and game back under medium raw. She went ahead and started eating because she were hungry. I got my half a rack of what I thought were baby back ribs but they looked like very short ribs I have to eat with a knife and fork because there was no rib. There was an inch or less or rib bone and the the rest was tough cartilage. The meat was okay but half of it was very fatty and the top was too charred I couldn't eat it. The mash potatoes was dry and crumbly unfortunately so I just kind of picked at my dinner. My dinner was not worth $17.99 at all. The only truly good thing was the raspberry ice tea.
Would I try this again, I would give them another chance but for the price, I might get something else.
My phone had died or else I'd post photos which I'd...
