Back Bay Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Florida

My daughter and her friend ate here for lunch. Everything was fine until they placed their order for food. This is when the wait began. Daughters friend ordered a sandwich and my daughter ordered a salad, which took my er 30 minutes for them to recieve. When the food was delivered their server Carmelo G told them that their food would be on the house due to the excessive wait. He disappeared and returned a while later after not checking to see if they needed anything, or refilling drinks, to offer them desert, which they declined since they had already been there much longer than planned. They asked for boxes for their leftover food which took approximately 15 minutes for him to bring back to the table. Keep in mind he has still not provided a bill, since he told them that the meal was in the house, due to the wait. They boxed their food and started to leave when they were stopped by Carmelo and asked where they were going. They stated that they were leaving and he then told them that they hadn’t paid. At this point my daughter, who works in a restaurant, reminded him that he had comped their meals, to which he replied that he was only offering to comp desert which was never stated initially. At this point my daughter and friend were angry and frustrated and told Carmelo to bring the Bill.... this then took another 15 minutes, they paid and left. Not sure if Carmelo is a bad server or just stupid but we will never...

Edited 1 year later.. fast forward a year and its just as terrible. We got to the hotel and were exhausted. Reluctantly we went to the restaurant so we wouldnt have to leave the hotel again. Its extremely overpriced for lackluster food. 20 bucks for a PLAIN cheeseburger and fries! Plain! TWELVE DOLLARS for a CHEESE quesadilla that's it only cheese and 2 tortillas ...TWELVE BUCKS! the price gouging is ridiculous! Now if it was amazing food the price wouldn't be that serious but cmon this is a resort! Get it together people!

The cheese fries presentation was absolutely horrendous... they really could try harder considering how much people pay to come here and how much it costs for the food I feel like they dropped the ball on presentation! It was the wrong plate and the wY the cheese was on the fries by the time we got to the bottom it was mushy... smaller plate and maybe drizzle the cheese and sour cream not just a vat of cheese poured on top. It's definitely overpriced for what it is... 22 bucks for a burger with super thick uncooked bacon and I opted for no side because I didn't want more fries and it was still 22 bucks smh ... think about the customer and how much they're spending at the hotel already. Absolutely ridiculous...

Back bay Bar is the only sit down restaurant with service on property (outside the hotel) there are other places you can order and sit down…at these prices I prefer not to the McDonald thing…anyway so we ate there with Richard Pierina our waiters, it was great…service was on top I Give Richard ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️and the food was pretty good. Went back when some of our Family got there 13 of us they, sat us right away and it was all pretty good. Only 1 issue they forgot someone’s food but then lied that they were making sure making sure it was cooked…it was Ahi Tuna so not a lot of cooking considering the kids had burgers. Just tell us it got left off it was no biggie, honesty is always the way to go. More family the next day we went back with a party of 7, restaurant is half empty I mean there was one group inside (literally less people than the night before) and we were told we had to wait 15 - 20 minutes. I asked if they could just seat us and we could wait on the food…nope…so either understaffed or not able to handle a crowd during the day…or bad management. in a tourist area that isn’t good.
