Girls' birthday trip - I booked this hotel for a girl's trip since a couple of us were celebrating birthdays. I booked one double queen bedroom with points and another double queen room with cash. I asked for connecting rooms and they accommodated it. We were in rooms 1065 and 1067. ||||Our flight was delayed so we arrived in the middle of the night. The check in was very quick given the time of day that we arrived. I was upgraded to a pool view room based on my gold status.||||The hotel itself is beautiful. The staff that I encountered at the front desk and concierge was very nice.||||Cleanliness: In my room, there was a fruit snack wrapper by one of the beds. ||In the second room, there was jelly smeared on the side of another bed. So, it was cleaned at a surface level, but some items were certainly overlooked. More than likely a prior guest had one of the $16 pb&j sandwiches from the coffee shop, and it got on the bed but no one wants that on their bedding. I had to ask twice to get the bedding changed. Room service came in before and made the bed and still didn't notice it until we brought it to their attention.||||Bathroom: The toilet in my bathroom (1067) made a weird screeching noise during random times of the day and night. The crazy sound woke me up and startled me at least a couple of times. The shower head in the shower was not the best in the world. It's the kind that you would immediately replace with a better one if you moved into a new house. But the toiletries were nice, and they smelled very good. ||||No microwave: There is a fridge in the room but no microwave? We had to ask the front desk to bring one up and we just shared it between the two rooms.||||Service: We had very disappointing service with the breakfast. One member of my party went down for breakfast on Saturday. She waited and waited and had to flag a server to get just drinks started. Maybe they expect people to just do the buffet but she wanted to order from the menu. Another table came with a family (she was by herself) and was served immediately before my friend. We tried again on Sunday (I was there myself for that one) so it was two of us. Again we had to flag down a server to get coffee. And then we waited for quite some time again to order food. So, we just left and walked to the Waldorf Astoria instead for breakfast. The server we had on Sunday was Evelyn. I told her when we were leaving that we had actually wanted to order from the menu and was waiting on her to come back and she just shrugged. The service staff is shockingly bad for the breakfast for an area that prides itself on hospitality. They missed an opportunity and it's ridicul||||The gift shop: cute stuff in the gift shop but I asked for a mirror and they said they didn't have one. Couldn't think that it would be hard to add one if you are selling clothing items.||||The coffee/snack bar: loved the selection but everything was crazily overpriced. I only got coffee there. It would be nice if they had stevia as a sweetener choice.||||Pool: Gorgeous pool. We spent hours at the pool on Sunday. I loved the lazy river but I didn't love the little waterspouts that would come down on my head through the tunnels but it's not a deal breaker. I loved the free floaties so it was nice to not have to worry about buying things. The bar seemed to be very short staffed on Sunday. Our server at the pool was Sam and she was doing her very best to serve us and it seemed like she was almost the only one serving people on the lounge chairs for a good part of the day. She was a rockstar considering that she was the only one managing people lounging at the pool (not at the actual bar). We all got cocktails and then ordered nachos and chicken fingers later. ||||If I had the choice to go back in time, I would NOT have picked this hotel for my girl's trip. We did not go to Disney so the proximity was not necessary. The food was all overpriced so I would have appreciated something with some kind of continental breakfast included. The $15 credit for gold members doesn't even get you coffee and a pastry from the coffee shop. The service at the breakfast restaurant was dismal. The cleanliness in the rooms was not great given that it's a Signia hotel. ||||Also, we wanted to include a spa day but the Waldorf spa prices were outrageous, so we ended up going to other venues for our spa day. Our breakfast at the Waldorf was lovely...
Read moreDisappointed by my experience at this property and wish I would have stayed next door at the Waldorf Astoria instead. Valet was rude and claimed they were closed when I arrived, even though it was 2 of them standing outside texting on their phones. The room was hot and had a strange, stuffy smell to it upon entering. The mattresses were fine but the pillows were thin/flat. Zero amenities kit or little necessities in the bathroom: no plastic shower cap nor cotton balls/pads nor QTips. No robe in the closet nor slippers of course. Nice view of the pool and golf course from my room. Didn’t go to the pool, during the daytime it looked crowded and had the same exact food menu as IRD. There’s a door in the room that connects to the room next door, meaning thin walls and I could hear the people next door - they may as well have been sitting in my room on my bed talking. The neighbors were so loud 6:30am-8:30am each day, and late at nights. Torture. Tried to turn on Disney Jr channel for my child to watch, but the tv is internet-based or something so it never worked. General Wi-Fi was lackluster, I forgot to use the code for my Gold members Wi-Fi. In-room dining delivered quickly or in less than stated time; however, the food was all disappointing. The tomato soup was cold, the Buffalo wings very dried out and lackluster, kids meals were horrible for my child, extremely limited options, everything was overpriced. I appreciated the complimentary shuttle to the Disney Parks. The pickup spot from Animal Kingdom was unclear, so I called the hotel for clarity, only to encounter “unwillingness to assist” from “Lacey” who claims there was no phone number to call the shuttle driver, said they do not have a phone nor any other way to communicate. The website says pickup from parking space 1, however, there was no parking space 1 nor 2, it started at space 3. The only covered seating pickup area was labeled for Disney Swan & Dolphin resort. Lacey was extremely unhelpful and uncaring, unwilling to assist or provide clarity. It was beyond frustrating, disappointing, and insulting. On 3pm Memorial Day, in room dining was closed, not accepting orders. The front desk said they were closed due to inactivity or low activity, despite it supposed to be available 6am-11pm daily. 5pm the front desk calls the room phone saying maintenance is at the door to change the air filter. Why? I did not request it, my child is napping. That should have been done before I checked in on Saturday, or it could wait until after we checked out. That disturbance was unwelcoming. The most insulting incident happened in one of those little shops inside the hotel, which solidified this 1-star review. Monday night (May 27th) shortly after 10pm I went into the gift shop/store by the FunZone. Right behind me entered a couple with their 2 sons, who loudly ran laps around the tiny shop nonstop to the point where they crashed into something, knocking items down. I was in the back picking out snacks. My child and I made our way the register as the dad was paying, filling out receipts to do a room charge. I heard him say charge it to his room and saw him write his room number down, etc. Then it was my turn to pay. I said I wanted to do a room charge as well. The male cashier told me, “No, it’s too late at night to do a room charge since I’m about to close.” The time was 10:27pm 5/27/24 on my receipt (Gift Shop #3053 Travel Traders). Pull the cameras, pull the transactions and see my transaction was literally mere seconds or a minute after the one prior to mine, so why was I not allowed to charge it to my room? Insulting to say the least, my child was not running wildly around the store knocking items over, only difference between that cashier and that previous family and myself is race/ethnicity. Highly insulting, beyond insulting. To make matters worse, we then went into the other gift shop that’s across from the hotel lobby front desk, who let me do a room charge with absolutely no...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars, I would. We have stayed at this hotel countless times. We have been staying here since 2021 - 2022. My experience last time was DISGUSTING. Our room was roach infested. INFESTED. A bunch of big and little roaches walking all over our things. I have the pictures on my old phone. Once I retrieve them I will edit my review and post them. Housekeeping came to see it and it was so bad the housekeeping manager had to come up to see it for herself. We chose not to leave a bad review because the housekeeping manager was kind about it and moved our room and they gave us a credit to make up for it. So I opted out of leaving a bad review but I’m speaking up now because we decided to give this hotel another chance after the roaches and it has been AWFUL. Our experience as a family has not been a good one, and Danielle at the front desk only made it worse. She is rude and speaks down to you and proceeds to mock you in your face. We are Diamond members and this hotel and Danielle do NOT value their Diamond members. We had consecutive reservations and when my husband tried to renew our keys the next morning, she very rudely told him we had to wait until check in time. Something we have NEVER had to do. When you have a consecutive reservation, you keep the same room and then just renew your keys whenever in the morning. My husband was confused so I approached the front desk upset because why would they say we can’t. And instead of Danielle empathizing and trying to understand my frustration, she was passive aggressive with me and laughed in my face. We then asked for late checkout, 3 days later, and before i could even finish asking she had already blurted out a no and again smiled maliciously at me. I asked for the managers number and both Danielle and the older man with her at the front desk said they could not provide me with that. Danielle then said “we can give you Tyler’s number” but then the older man said “no let’s give her Stephanie” and they both started laughing. Clearly mocking not just me but their own bosses as well. I am APALLED by this behavior. Now to speak about the hotel itself, most rooms in this hotel are broken, they renovated the lobby but not the rooms. We had a room with a broken door but we didn’t want to be “difficult” so we sucked it up and stayed. I am now regretting that because of the way we’ve been treated this entire stay. Not to mention that this hotel will host seminars and conferences and they will have the lobby filled with about 100-200 people until late. All these people will then fill the hallways, waking everyone up as they stumble loudly to their rooms. Definitely not a hotel for families. The pool has ducks all over them and while it’s very cute to watch the baby ducks swimming, the pool is filled with duck poop. I had to drag my kids out because I didn’t want them swimming with that. I asked a staff member at the pool if they clean it and they said only after hours when the pool is closed. So if you see duck poop floating around, just know they’re not cleaning it right there and then. The price for parking skyrocketed from $24 or something to now $50 a night! When we asked the front desk, they mentioned it’s a third party and they can’t control the prices which is understandable but just something to consider when trying to decide if you’ll be staying here. However, if you were debating whether to stay here, DON’T DO IT. Go stay at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace. They are so wonderful there and it’s close to disney, you can walk to disney springs. They treat their Diamond members with respect and they have an amazing lazy river and bar/restaurant. Not to mention most of their rooms have nice relaxing balconies. We messed up not staying there this time but now we know for next time. We will not be staying at this hotel again and will be sure to let all our friends and...
