So, to preface this, I used to manage a beef o brady's and loved it. It is not the best, and some is beyond the restaurants controll which is why I am giving 2 stars. So here was the visit:
Came in around 5 pm today for mothers day. Me, my fiance, my son, and fiancee's mom and step dad. Waitress was new (first day) so cutting a little slack. Ordered sodas water for the baby for drinks which came out prompt. Ordered our meals, expecting to take 20-40 mins, eat and have time to head to the store after. There were only 3 other tables and a few individuals at the bar, so the trip should not take more than an hour, hour and a half.
First appetizer came out quickly, but the second took almost 40 minutes. Then the meals, 3 of the meals came out (one with cold fries as they had been sitting), but no wings or kids meal. Appears they forgot to enter them. It happens, just expedite and move on. Kids meal came out quickly (another 10 minutes or so) but still no wings, and I bring this up. (At this point, we are an hour and 15 minutes into the meal, so we cancel our plans to go to the store. 15 minutes later, the Waitress returns and apologized, the wings were "entered seperately" in error. Obviously, they forgot to enter the wings, but again it happens. Expedite and move on. But I guess the Expedite was forgot. 25 minutes later, power goes out. Turns out an accident knocked over a street pole that shut down power to the entire plaza. At this point, I go back in and guess what, still no wings.
Staff was still cooking and serving food (in the dark with no circulation! With several children in the building.) Spoke to the manager at 2 hours into the visit, they were still working on my wings but went ahead and cancelled them. Offered a 25 % discount and apologized. (After adding it all up, no discount was applied, which I did not realize until after I left, but honestly, I do not care, I just wanted OUT at this point.)
All in all, new Waitress on there first day, so I and discounting her issues as you cannot blame this on them. I know there is a curve as I have trained several waitresses. Mistakes are made.
The issues I have with this are with management and kitchen staff.
Kitchen staff - lack of control of ticket times lead to 2 + hour visits. Expedition of mistakes leads to a better customer experience. When I worked there, expected ticket times were 15 minutes for non- wings and 25 minutes for wings. When busy, it could be a little higher, but you can see this on the screen. 3 tables and a couple individuals is not busy, so more training and or more staff is needed.
Management- managments head should be on a swivel, if tables are there for and hour, two hours, you should be checking in and making sure everything is ok. We called this a "table touch". If there is an issue, the expedition should be communicated with the staff and kitchen staff. Also if you advise there will be a 25% discount added, ensure it is entered. To do this, I would typically close out the sale myself to make sure...
Read moreAfter driving all day we stopped in Wesley Chapel for the night and decided to order online from Beef O Brady’s. What a nightmare. Our order was placed more or less around 8pm. We head to the restaurant to pick it up around 8:20 and we were told there was no record of our online order. We showed them the screen shot and proof of transaction through our bank. They said since they couldn’t retrieve the order there was nothing they can do. Of course furious I asked to speak to the manager. 15-20 minutes later who claimed to be the owner showed up. He never stated his name. We proceeded to tell him what happened and showed him proof of our order and instead of trying to fix the issue he said and I quote “I have no proof that you made that order”. I said seriously? We just showed two forms of proof. He said there was nothing he could do and then told us we had to call the corporate office to get our money back and you can find the number on the menu. He was not sympathetic at all. I have never experienced this from a restaurant. The right thing would be for them to just make our order and give us our food. By this time it was almost 9pm. Eventually the owner left and the two girls came out and asked us what we ordered. I told them one of the orders was grilled shrimp. Originally in the beginning when she asked us she said they were out of grilled shrimp. Now all of the sudden they magically had some. The food eventually came out and we finally ate around 9:30 ish. The owner never showed his face again. He was rude and horrible. I called corporate the next day and according to corporate they don’t issue refunds like the owner told us. Corporate also told us the owner has full control of everything that goes on in his restaurant and they do no see the orders online as the owner said. Stay far away from this place. It was a...
Read moreNot sure if I am the only one to catch this but this place is ripping the customers off when they purchase the 2/$20 deals. They are charging tax on the appetizer that is included in the meal. The total should be 21.40, but it's not because they are taking the appetizer off of the bill after totaling the check. What's even worse is that the manager this evening, Erin, didn't even understand what the problem was. The only thing she could say was by LAW they had to charge tax, otherwise it is illegal. I did everything I could not to laugh, as her light bulb clearly was running dim. Additionally, we had a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $25 or more. We were told we could not use the coupon because we had purchased the 2/20 deal at our table even though the other two adult meals, drinks and appetizers we ordered for regular menu price exceeded $25. Aside from the lack of common sense with mgt, this place is stealing from the patrons, and for that we will NEVER patron this place again!!!! Furthermore, per ERIN, the corporate office is responsible for charging tax for the included appetizer which means every Beefs is doing the same thing!!! Not to be confused either, Erin said that she personally spoke with this locations owner Michelle, who stands by her shady business practices and over charging! Btw the food here is only mediocre anyway!! Our food was cold too. Good business integrity is the utmost importance to us!
I found out that we have another Beef O Brady's in Wesley Chapel next to Wiregrass. I called and spoke with the manager Leah who states that they DO NOT charge tax on the appetizers that are included for the 2/$20 and that her location would have gladly accepted our $5 coupon towards the other items we purchased. FUNNY, I guess it's not a corporate policy to overcharge...
