Godawful service, rude management, and will not abide to dietary restrictions (and allergies). If I could give negative stars I would. Absolutely most HORRENDOUS experience I have ever had in any restaurant. It hurts to write this because I believe we should support small businesses, but I will never eat here again. Yesterday I decided to stop by and order a Spicy Basil. I asked multiple times to make sure my dish was vegan (I also emphasized the importance because I am ALLERGIC to dairy as well). They said yes, no dairy, fully vegan with veggies, no issues. And although the wait was very long (the lady out front was chit chatting on phone while a line formed) I was perfectly fine waiting. Their food was a-ok and today I decided, again, to order the exact same thing. However, when I ordered, at NO POINT was I told that my food was a “lunch special” and so today’s meal was different because it had a side salad lathered with ranch dressing (I did due diligence and checked site prior to order and there was no mention of ranch). So of course, I cannot eat my meal (I ordered 2 for myself). Fine, a little upset but understanding that this can happen sometimes, I call the place to let them know, and that I can’t eat the food because the ranch seeped around the containers (again, I would have to go ER if I ingest dairy accidentally). You would think they would apologize or try to correct order. Nope. They told me VERBATIM “our cooks don’t know what ‘vegan’ is. You should have said ‘no ranch’. Nothing we can do”. After going back and forth I get redirected to manager, who says same thing, playing the blame game, and beginning to scream in a shrilly voice at me. At this point I’m pretty mad/upset/disappointed/tired of being blamed by this “manager” so I asked for a refund (more like, pressed because she very clearly didn’t want to give me one). She said she would, and hung up on me while I was in mid sentence.
This would have gone completely different if they had said something like “sorry we overlooked/made a mistake/didn’t know what ‘vegan’ is, we will remake the order/refund you.” My biggest advice to this place is, improve your sense of decorum with customers. There is a severe lack of professionalism and accountability for something that could have affected my health.
This aside, the food is FINE. But I cannot recommend this place because of the lack of attention and minimization of very important dietary restrictions that can have serious repercussions to...
Read moreMy husband and I are frequent Thai food lovers. We travel around the country and eat thai everywhere we go. At home (Indiana) we have a favorite Thai restaurant that we go to at least twice a month. We are currently in Florida on an anniversary vacation. We have tried a couple of thai restaurants in the area and were not impressed. Today we gave Arroy Thai and Sushi a try. We do not eat sushi, so I can not speak on the sushi at all. I will say everything we ordered today was cooked perfectly, you could taste the quality in ingredients, and the service was top notch. Overall the experience was amazing!
We started with the lettuce wraps. OMG! This is one of the best lettuce wraps I have ever had. My husband ordered the garlic and black pepper with pork. He must have loved it because all I got from him was how good it was and there was nothing left on his plate. The veggies were not mushy, but tender. The meat was cooked perfectly. Still juicy and tender.
I ordered the seafood Tom Yum soup. The first thing I noticed was the tail was removed from the shrimp. This is something small, but shows the extra attention to detail. Either they are paying more for the shrimp to come like this or they are removing the tail themselves. The second thing I noticed was the cut off the squid. It wasn't rings! The squid actually had flavor and a texture that could be chewed. If you know you know. I also ordered the Thai ice tea. If you have had thai iced tea then it was nothing special. Just the typical rich and smooth deliciousness that is Thai Ice Tea.
We ordered everything thai hot. This is not for the weak of heart. If you like the spice this restaurant can do it. If you don't like food so spicy the fumes make you cough, don't try this. The nice thing about the spice is the meal still had the Thai flavor. It wasn't just painful hot food. Lastly the food came out PIPING touch hot!
Overall, the experience was fantastic. Thank you Brandon for the great service . We will see you...
Read moreI have ordered from arroy thai here and there for 2 years. They are the only thai place I know of close to me - and food is pretty good so I've stuck to it. As my bf and I order the same thing usually, we get curry and pad thai most times. Unfortunately it's never consistent in regards to spice. We've asked for mild spice and get food that is so hot and spicy it's not enjoyable. Sometimes it has zero spice. We've been told it depends on whether you are ordering lunch or dinner, and which chef is there - which is pretty ridiculous. Also I would highly suggest not getting the fried rice - it is nothing like fried rice I've had anywhere and has a strange after taste. Recently made a larger order than usual as my mom was in town. Went and picked it up, got home and an entree was something different than what we ordered. At this point, we are home and not interested in going back - so I call to let them know - and spoke to same girl that took the order, who apologized and said they would replace it if we came back - and I asked could we just have that as a credit for next time ...she said yes, took my name and number anx said when I call to use credit to just tell them my name. .....well fast forward a month - and I did exactly that. Spoke to a man this time who tells me I do not have a credit and even as far as to read me names and orders of people who did have credit - all while making me feel like I'm lying about it. I told him that was fine, and I would never order from him again. He said "ok." To me, that is disgusting. He could have done some research and called me back or anything besides making me feel like some loser trying to get something for free - I do not appreciate businesses that run this way and refuse to give them my business. As a loyal customer to a place for 2 years - that really...
