My family and I were regulars at the Brass Monkey Tavern for 11 years, and it had always been a recommendable experience until they got new owners. When I called to place a to-go order, they put me on hold for 10 minutes, to then be hung up on. After shortly calling back a second time, it was done again. I feel it went from being a sweet high-end little place to a bit of a musky dirty dive bar ambiance. On a separate occasion, my family took my brothers out to dinner here, while they were back from the Army. When they brought out our wings, they were cold and dry, so we kindly asked if they could make us new ones. 10 minutes later, our "new" chicken wings had arrived, but instead they were the same ones. There lied my half eaten chicken wing, from the old wings prior. They couldn't have noticed, since they happily re-heated the same wings, and told us they were new ones. (:
Lastly, on my final benefit of the doubt that I had given them, I witnessed an individual snorting cocaine from the bathroom counter, yes the public counter with the sinks where everyone should be able to wash their hands, and contemplate if they look like they've lost weight. Apparently, the owner is never around to speak with, nevertheless prevent a potential drug overdose. It's quite the unprofessional establishment, even for a sports bar. My honest opinion of the Brass Monkey Tavern as of 2019? Is that they need help, so maybe instead of dining there, you should just go work there.
Best of Luck to them, as they're going to need it!

Read moreAfter finding the Brass Monkey online and viewing their menu, we were excited to stop in and satisfy our hunger. And satisfy it they did. The staff, and in particular our server, Hailey (sorry if I butchered the spelling of your name) was so friendly and helpful. She's engaging and funny and makes it a great experience to dine with them. The food was also phenomenal, we started with their smoked fish dip, and loved it. So flavorful and light, a perfect starter. The bread for the table was also fantastic, warm, with a soft fluffy center and crisp, but not hard crust. For mains my husband had the skirt steak, twice baked potatoe (loaded) and onion rings and said that it was the best steak he'd had in a long time, and I had the Cedar baked salmon with a twice baked potatoe and green beans per Hailey's recommendation. Both dishes were absolutely wonderful, the skirt steak was cooked to perfect temperature (mid rare) and the twice baked potatoes are divine. The salmon was flavorful and the green beans were sweet and juicy. We would definitely recommend this...
Read moreUpdate: visited this restaurant 2x since review below posted. The food is very good and service has improved somewhat. Usually ok service but last visit was the WORST SERVICE EVER! We arrived about 10 min after 5. Roughly 10 min after being seated, the Server was messing with the TV instead of taking the beverage order. Then mixed up the beverages. The appetizer (ordered with beverages) was brought out AFTER the table next to us (a party of 4 or 5, who were the next customers to arrive about 15 to 20 min BEHIND us) was served their food (our appetizer, spinach dip, arrived about an HOUR after we were seated, we kept expecting the appetizer to arrive any minute as it was busy but not swamped (there were at least 3 empty tables that I could see).Although server was quick to clear table, the Server did not ask to top off beverages, split the checks as requested, and most annoying of all, kept the change from a check that paid cash. Despite the awesome prime rib (which 4of us ordered) this place will not be first pick, if ever...
