This place always breaks down their equipment by 9:45 and is out the door by 10. So what that really means is The futures clothes up in the shade so that they can walk out of the door by 10 o'clock. It doesn't seem like the owners care about their employees work epic because if they did they were going to deserve the fact that they ask you if you don't want to work a minute past 10 o'clock they close the Machines at 9:30 which is veryy disappointed If you show up at 9:45 and really want to soft ice cream. Just to let you know all the other extreme shops in the area if they stay open till 10 they close their machines at 10 and then clean up is at 10 o'clock… It's called being professional just to let you know any restaurants in the area does not allow their cooks ordered please shut down before 10 o'clock I am walking to restaurant is at 9:45 if you show up at 9:45 and really want to soft ice cream. Just to let you know all the other extreme shops in the area if they stay open till 10 they close their machines at 10 and then clean up is at 10 o'clock… It's called being professional just to let you know any restaurant in the area does not allow their cooks whatever please just shut down before 10 o'clock I am walking to restaurant is at 9:45 I still have been able to get served anything on the menu, and also worked in restaurants… Not allowed and not allowed to clean up or breakdown till 10 PM and then you go home. Just a little advice for the owner. Maybe you should retrain and make sure that they're open till 10 PM as stated on your door... There's another Carvel on Spanish River that is that for is there a couple other ice cream shops in the area practice their closing...
Read moreTo preface, I have a severe peanut allergy. I went there with my girlfriend. I decided to get nothing but she got an oreo milkshake and offered to share it with me. Looking at the menu I saw no milkshakes that would be a problem and the carvelanches had their own separate machine, so it seemed safe.
We get back to her place and as we are drinking she starts to notice a distinct peanut taste. I stop and try to locate my epipen. As she continues to drink she finds actual peanut chunks, quite a few of them too. Luckily I didnt have to use my EpiPen and I'm rather astounded by that.
I expected far greater care when it came to allergens such as this, I don't expect to find loads of peanut chunks in an oreo milkshake. I have been to many, many ice cream shops and this is the first time in my life I have encountered this problem so blatantly. It could have put me in the hospital or worse.
First time at a carvel, and definitely the last time I'll...
Read moreThe customer service at this Carvel is impeccable. It is truly like service you got in the old days when stores were appreciative of their customers, not the other way around - even when there is a line!!! The girls (all of them including Juliette and Allie) are stellar - they are prompt, pleasant, polite and professional. Given the volume of customers they have in this store at any given time of day or evening, weekday or weekend - in this day and age to have customer service like this, where they even say "thank - you" and look you in the eye like they mean it when they hand you your receipt is miraculous, plus they get all the orders correct!! Many customers are demanding and impatient and in the face of this, all these girls stand strong! Amazing team! Oh yes, and I forgot the ice-cream is truly extraordinary. I have been to other Carvels and they don't hold a candle to this one - store #2183; in reference to customer service...
