Buyer beware. On December 31, 2023, my friends and I, a party of 14, reserved the VIP section at Cavo Lounge for New Year’s Eve. We were initially informed that the total cost would be $2,500, a sum we accepted. It was communicated to us that hors d’oeuvres would be served from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, which unfortunately, did not occur.
Throughout the evening, there were only two waitresses assigned to the entire VIP section. They prepared our initial round of drinks but did not return for any additional service for the rest of the night. My previous VIP experiences have consistently included dedicated waitstaff providing drinks throughout the evening.
At the close of the evening, we were presented with an unexpected additional charge of $630, despite adhering to our original $2,500 limit. Reluctantly, we agreed and settled this additional amount, with assurances that it was the final balance.
However, the subsequent day revealed an unexplained extra charge of $525. Upon inquiry, it was explained as an undisclosed 25% tip. When we approached management regarding these discrepancies and the subpar service, they refused to offer any resolution.
Our experience at Blue Martini a month prior starkly contrasted this, as we received attentive service with a dedicated server throughout the night. Based on these issues, I cannot recommend the VIP experience at this...
Read moreIf I could give this place a half a star rating. I have I only been to this place one time and in that one night they charge an abysmal 10 dollar cover (for absolutely zero live music) played the most obnoxious music I've ever heard inside of a club, gave me the most overpriced watered-down drink I have ever paid for at a bar, and to top it all off They confiscated an extremely expensive e-cigarette that a friend of mine was using all before kicking us out. Mind you I am all in favor of not vaping inside of businesses, but stealing someones property? The thing is, I would have never written this review if I hadn't been treated so shittily by Jason, who I want to assume is a manager but based on his customer service skills I would be surprised if he was a busboy. After asking if I could retrieve my device for monetary compensation, he walked off into back for 10 minutes during which I saw him doing all sorts of other stuff. And I get it, I'm not this guys priority, and hes a manager, but it doesnt take ten minutes to ask if there's a stack for confiscated items, while I'm sitting out frony waiting. And all Jason deems worthy for my time is a head shake from across the room. My bottom line? Just go to blue martini. These clowns don't know how to hire DJ's or Security staff, do not...
Read moreWe host ladies' night socials in SWFL and decided to try CAVO on Saturday, June 22nd. Having spoken to the manager several times, we reserved seating for our group of 30 ladies. We arrived at 7:05 pm and were assigned only one server. By 7:40 pm, the server was still taking drink orders, so I requested the front desk to assign another server, and they did. However, what shocked us was that both servers assigned to us were new and had no idea about the menu. One of them couldn't even spell the menu items, and I had to dictate the spelling of each item. She didn't know what a flight is, and I had to explain it to her, even though it's mentioned in their bar menu. One would expect the restaurant/bar to provide proper training before hiring people.
Our food order taking was done by 8 pm. We waited for our food to arrive, only to get another surprise: the server forgot to write the table number with the food orders. So, she had to take everyone's order again at 8:05 pm. One of the ladies with us ordered a burrata salad, and it took 40 minutes to arrive because the server accidentally gave it to another party.
While the food, drinks, and music were amazing, the service was beyond horrendous. All I can say is that I am never going back, nor will any of the ladies...
