Paragon was truly my favorite movie theatre for so long, but recently, that has come to a very unfortunate end. The staff was never anything spectacular, there are about two staff members that are incredibly nice and seem to enjoy their jobs, but the rest of them are whatever, not rude but do not exceed expectations in any way shape or form. The theater is in serious need of shaping up. First of all, the nicest thing about the whole theater is the ramp to the entrance and the seats. The seats are incredibly comfortable I will give them that, best seats in Naples. But the rugs are just nasty and dirty and need a serious cleaning. But the one thing that has gone so long and I have no idea why no one has fixed it yet is the screens. At almost every single movie I have seem there, (Morbius, The Northman, Jurrasic World Dominion, Lyle Lyle Crocodile, just to name a few) the screen has periodically turned off (gone black) in the middle of the movie. At the last time I visited Paragon, we were sold tickets to Halloween Ends, and then directed to the specific theater and then as we were entering the theater a man had ran after us asking for our identification because the film was aparently R rated. I am unsure why I wasn’t notified of the film being R rated. Due to the fact me and the person I was with were under 18, we could not see the film. That is understandable. But it is unprofessional to sell the ticket anyway and then chase after us and demand to see identification. I understand the sentiment and appreciate their adherence to the law, but there are better ways to handle situations. The entire staff needs to be on the same page, as I have been given access to R rated movies unaware of them being R rated by multiple staff members. As have I seen children clearly no where near 18 being admitted in as wel without being asked identification. We were not offered a refund, instead we were offered tickets for Lyle Lyle Crocodile and The Woman King. Picking Lyle Lyle crocodile, we went into the theatre to see that the screen was completely black and there was only audio. We sat there for about 7 minutes waiting for the visual of screen to turn on, but it never did. At this point, we went outside and explained the situation of the screen and how we just wanted a refund. The man we spoke to said “I never sold you that ticket, dont accuse me.” To which I was taken aback, because I had never accused anyone of anything, i had explained that the establishment had sold me a ticket to a theatre that the movie wasnt even being shown in. The entire time while getting the refund, the man kept saying “you can bring a parent or a friend or a girl friend or boyfriend to see the movie they have to be 18 though” although at this point he had already said it about 10 times and we had already said “its okay we just want the refund”. He just kept repeating the same uncomfortable phrase, but never were wer given any statement on the state of the screen being black, or given an apology for being sold tickets to a theater where the screen was obviously not working. While we were being refunded, I asked about the new national movie card coming out, and the worker was incredibly rude saying “thats not for us” or “i dont know what youre talking about” and giving me rude glares when trying to explain what I was talking about. Incredibly odd experience. As we left, the man said “see you soon.” A place I always raved about, brought visiting family friends to, and enjoyed the art of cinema at has unfortunately strayed from the comforting homey-ness it once had. So sad :( i hope one day i can go back to Paragon Pavillion and have an enjoyable experienxe but the last few visits have been shockingly similar to this one. Pay a little more and go to Silverspot and have quality and an enjoyable experience guaranteed,...
Read moreUpdate Feb2025 saw a movie on a Sat. Pretty crowded but enjoyed the movie, the popcorn was fresh which was nice after my last experience ( please pop fresh for all movie times) the icees are pretty good though expensive, the experience in general was much improved from Dec 2024" btw wish I could remember the young man that assisted me his customer skills were excellent and really helpful.. 12/2024Update: sadly the theater here has went downhill on latest visits if you go on any day besides Tues your looking at an expensive time.. with 2 tickets, 1 Small popcorn, nacho cheese over chips a medium drink and a box of candy we spent over $75 is that crazy or what?? Heads up the popcorn was stale and not even warm ( don't we all love to eat good popcorn at a theater?) The nachos were disgusting, avoid at all costs you'll do yourself a huge favor, stale cold and just yuck! The candy was the only thing ok guess because you can't hurt boxed candy, also the expensive soda was more ice than drink and tasted flat.. waited forever to get our order completed ( there was only a couple other guests in there) he was nice "but sloowwww"" .we got to our seats & lights wouldn't dim off after movie started .. someone finally had to run to the front to ask staff to turn off the lights which were forgotten?? (this after the movie had been on 10 minutes) customer service and cleanliness has definitely went downhill, as one who is on a budget I don't want to spend high dollar for bad service, dirty and terrible food.. hope to see this place get better because it has potential to be great" 2022The ease of ordering tickets online was great, the cost was affordable..my complaint with the online site was it took me over an hour to get it to allow me to get my tickets, the other issue online was I attempted over 10 times to register online a diamond account... Which said could be done without a card, and without downloading the app.. Everytime I almost had an account set it would say ." Need a card to register" ?? I finally gave up .then without being a member iit magically allowed me to purchase my tickets?? but yet after arrival I asked for the Account Movie Card " the one I needed supposedly to get tickets and do my online account" they said no cards used or given here ,that they just put in my phone number I used ..(which I was able to do after signing up for the newsletter, and with a incentive of a free small popcorn coupon to use Mon-thurs .that would last 30days after signing up . I received the coupon, but the expiration I was sent was had it dated to expire for a date that was before I did the online account, that was disappointing.. had a couple questions and thankfully the young man who goes by the name AJ ( I believe his name was Alfonso) was awesome and patient at the snack counter..and I told him about my attempt to get diamond awards ..but he patiently said my phone number should pull up account and at the least points I'd get points for the $45 plus spent for snacks at snack counter...thank you,and thank you for your kind helpful assistance.. not acting haughty annoyed or impatient.. your service was so friendly that I didn't care so much how much money we had to spend for the snacks and drinks .he is definitely an asset to this theater..as for the floors they were quite a bit dirty, including the bathrooms that's a shame..but the theater itself where you watch the movie wasn't to crowded, and that area was clean, comfortable and I loved the seats which I was able to reserve my exact seat another perk with advance online purchase..holders...
Read moreI’m giving stars only because Paragon Theaters is generally a good company. However, my experience at this location was unacceptable. I came to watch an R-rated movie with my underage brother. After handing our tickets and already walking towards the theater, the same employee stopped us to check ages. I explained I was over 20, meeting the 21+ requirement for accompanying minors. He didn't believe me and demanded ID, which I didn't have as I'm from Pennsylvania and didn't expect to need it at a theater. The employee was dismissive, cutting me off and suggesting other movies instead of listening. When I asked to show a photo ID, he reluctantly agreed. While waiting and explaining that we are going to watch the movie and we don’t want other options, he became frustrated and abruptly left to get a manager. A female employee who did not know exactly what was happening rudely interjected, "IT'S THE LAW," though I clearly understood the policy. I tried to speak to another male employee with glasses behind the counter to explain the situation and tell him I was just waiting on the picture and if we would be all good after and he contradicted the photo ID option, insisting on a physical copy after I was told a photo was ok. He was equally rude, walking away mid-conversation. Once I received and showed my ID photo and also my college ID so I would be sure they’d finally believe me, the original employee's attitude completely changed, suddenly becoming polite. This shift only highlighted the unnecessary disrespect we faced. While we enjoyed the movie, the experience was ruined by this treatment. We could have watched it at home but we chose to come just for the theater experience, clearly made the wrong choice. It's disappointing to see employees comfortable & disrespecting people they perceive as younger yet if he would have known I was actually a grown adult from the beginning he would not have acted that way. As a first-time complainant, I felt compelled to share this unacceptable experience, especially given Naples'...
