Champs Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Florida

I have been here many times. The food and service has always been great. But it had been many years since I have been there. So I took my youngest son out for his 21st birthday to buy him his first legal drink. I ordered us 2 shots of wild turkey and it was 2 for 1 bottle beer. So I also ordered us a beer chaser. They asked for his ID and then they wished him a happy birthday. Brought us the drinks and many of the staff came by to wish my son Happy Birthday. We ordered food and it was not disappointing. The portions were big as usual that we brought food home. I asked for the Manager just to let her know that I told my son about the time me and a co worker use to come there all the time for pay per view fights and events and alway had great food and service. And to let her know that I was happy and my son brought me their for lunch and enjoyed the food and said the service was great. When I suggested taking him out for his Birthday there he said yeah and said it would be great for his first legal drink. Thank you Champs for being down home family friendly and having quality service and great food. My wife is kinda picky and I brought her there and she enjoyed the food didn't have to send it back for mistake. Were really busy that night and my section was training a new server and when they didn't get back in just a minute with refills they were we are so sorry it took so long. I said no apologies necessary training new staff and very busy and the wait was not long. Will always be a customer and I have invited some friends I haven't seen in a while over. Told them about Champs and they are ready to up and make a night of it. GREAT PLACE...

Met a few friends for dinner tonight at Champs. They weren't very busy but we sat outside on the deck because the weather was nice and it was quieter without the juke box playing inside. There was 2 other small parties also dining outside at the time. I must say that I am VERY unhappy with the experience as a whole. The waitress took forever getting our drink orders, the gator butter appetizer came out LONG after we got our regular food and we had to ask where the appetizer was THREE times AFTER we'd gotten our food. We kept getting the wrong drink refills delivered and the food was cold before we got the sour cream and au jus sauce we asked for. We watched a couple next to us ask for their check to leave TWICE and then end up having to go inside to pay in order to leave after waiting a good 20 minutes. The worst part, in my opinion, is that they charged an automatic 20% gratuity. I ALWAYS tip, regardless of the quality of service and/or food but I would not have given 20% tonight....it definitely wasn't earned or deserved. Staff also was NOT wearing a mask. Only good thing I have to say is that the gator...

Prices way up and quality way down. Ordered the taco salad....terrible no taste, dried out taco meat with zero flavor. Thrown on lettuce with 8 huge cucumber slices???? Small cup salsa and 2 sour cream packs. Never again. Their carbonated drinks were not good due to carbonation wasn't right, which they were aware of due to waitress told us that up front offered us a coke from the bar but wouldn't give us refills had to buy another one???? Their problem not ours but we ended up paying 10.00 for 3 cokes. Sent taco salad back server brought me back menu to get something else but by time she came back to get my order my grandson was done eating. I said forget it, no apology offered. Try to order a pretzel bites to go was told they had a big party come in and would be at least 12 minutes I didn't get that either. My family and i have been going to champs for years and am definitely double guessing going...
