Meh. Culver's isn't my favorite "quick service" restaurant (It's definitely not "fast" food). But, when you have a wife and child who like it you persevere.
The food isn't really all that bad but you're paying table service prices for otherwise self-service. You can go to Applebee's for a similarly priced burger and fries and it might even make it to the table quicker and definitely won't be crispy and dry.
I normally get the spicy chicken basket because I really don't like my hamburgers to have crispy meat. They press the burgers so flat that they're dry and crispy. I think in their mind the searing process holds the juice in, but when your burger patty ends up being 1/4" thick (or less) there's no chance it's going to be juicy. It's meat cooking 101. If you're frying ground beef to sear it and you press it down the juice will escape... It will literally be pushed out of the meat. The buns however, are incredibly soft and delicious! And, well, who doesn't really enjoy crinkle fries? I mean, they're no waffle fry but they're the next best thing! And, the pretzel bites with Wisconsin cheddar dipping sauce are fantastic.
I've also had the fish and pot roast. I've never bothered to try the pork tenderloin sandwich. The chili isn't bad but if I want chili I'll probably...
Read moreWe had heard that the Culver’s was opening up by us today, so had a family lunch together during my son’s break at work remodeling a nearby home. He order the Wisconsin melt with cheese curds meal, Paula ordered a chicken sandwich with pretzel bites meal, Emilia ordered a double burger with chili fries meal, and I ordered a Reuben with large cheese curd. We were able to get our drinks while the food was being cooked fresh for us. It didn’t have a “freestyle” machine, but it had the most popular drinks in the fountain, as well as teas. The food seemed to come out quickly, and the order was correct. All the meals tasted good, not soggy, fresh and warm. I forgot to order dipping sauces with the original order, and it was easy to get some ranch, marinara and honey mustard. The place was clean. The staff was friendly. Is was about $15 per combo meal (sandwich, side and a drink), which is a bit more than other fast food, however, we ordered specialty sides (not just fries), which added to the cost and enjoyment. I would definitely recommend a visit. Well done all! PS. The staff are all learning at this new location, but they were quick and polite (like they’d been trained...
Read moreWill never come to this place again. The absolute worst experience at this Culver's we've ever had. We had an order that was about $45, and my husband literally watched our sit under the heat lamp for over 10 plus minutes according to our recept time. When he went up to the counter to ask why we hadnt got our food and wanted it fresh, the cashier argued, gave an attitude, and said that it's fine bc It's been under the heat lamp. He asked for a manager and a refund because the food was not fresh, we watched countless drive thru people get served and people in the lobby. There was absolutely no reason for our food to just sit there and never serve us. The cashier continued to argue, threw the food from the tray, and yelled at us while we walked out. The manager did absolutely nothing to help the situation or to counsel her staff. Extremely unprofessional. Hire some.more experienced staff who know how to handle conflict or unsatisfied customers instead of privileged teenagers with...
