We have eaten here as a family several times over the years, both dining in, but mostly take out, due to its close proximity to home.
The food has always been decent, not great, but the lady owner that works the front counter and register is definitely not personable, which is what you would expect as your last contact before leaving the place.
The last time I ordered take out it was a deluxe family meal pack, which has soup, egg rolls, Bbq ribs and four entrees. I was so aggravated I have not been back and do not plan to go back EVER. I waited the 30 minutes for the order to be prepared, and when I went in to pick it up, the owner at the counter went to look for it and couldn’t find the food. After several minutes and a phone call from another customer that she had the wrong food for the order, the owner determined that she had given our order of food to the wrong person. And the food that remained was for the people who had call back. The solution was that they were going to have to prepare my order again while I waited.
Here’s where it gets interesting or should I say aggravating. The other customer returned to get their correct food order and the owner told them to just keep my first order, which only makes sense since you can’t return it or give it to anyone else. So that customer was given two meals for their extra trip back to the restaurant and inconvenience.
I however waited an additional 25 minutes for my order to be re-done. When it came time to check out and pay, the owner did not offer any discount for the added inconvenience for my missing food and reorder. I then politely asked for some consideration for their mistake and she said “I take care you next time”. I replied that I had waited patiently while you had to figured out what happened, redo my order and you aren’t going to do anything now? She replied again, “I take care you next time.” That is a totally unacceptable response to a recurring customer that has waited more than an hour for their to go order. Humor me and throw in a dessert, just something to make me feel like you cared...
It has been a while since this incident and we HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! The owner is just a CHEAP PROPRIETOR that was not concerned with the customer or the customers time at all. In hind sight, I should have just told her to keep her food and not paid her at all, walked down to Publix deli for dinner.
There did not used to be so many similar options, but now there are PLENTY of other Chinese/ Asian food operators around. Be wise and go to one that appreciates your business and values their customers. This place does not!
Here are some options:
Rice Bowl Asian House and Bangkok Tokyo are both Right Across SR70 by Lowe’s and have Awesome service!!!
China Gourmet is next to Publix at Lockwood Ridge and SR70, only 1 Mile West.
Sunny Wok is next to Goodwill at Ranch Lake Plaza by Walmart, 1/2 Mile East.
And of course Happy Dragon is located at the Publix plaza at LWR Blvd and SR70, 1 Mile East.
These are all at the same SR70 exit, not to mention more places at and around UTC and LWR Main Street, 2-4 miles away.
I really do urge you to do business with one of these other many proprietors that appreciates your business and values their customers. This...
Read moreWas told: ‘my people need to greet them when we come in and need something, it’s very normal, so its my fault I was ignored’, when asking why I was ignored for 10 minutes standing sitting then standing at the counter directly in front of an employee who to my disbelief turned out to be manger and why the low level other employee walked past me to greet the Lady that walked in before walking past me to make comments to the manager and sit across me on her phone laughing about the situation. Sad, I thought maybe it was a ‘don’t know any better’ situation but the entry level employee snickering during the situation helped confirm her actions were intentional
Very unusual attitudes by the women workers ( just as other reviewers have mentioned) I have -never experienced the display of unprofessionalism by the male workers there I must add-. And this review is a boil over of consistent uncomfortableness. When we come to pick up food it’s a simple transaction, requires very few words, people do not care about the social issues and quarrels of society and have no use for pretending visits are personal.
I have been to all restaurants within 25 miles, I highly recommend places with a strong combination of food and welcoming atmosphere, here are some notable places: -Pho house -Rice Bowl Asian house ( adjacent Plaza) -Sunny Wok ( state road 70 east) -Taste of China ( state road 64) genuine nice people, amazing consistent good service, including remaining food cook estimates -China Taste (university) very nice -China 1 (Fruitville) very business standard -Pei Wei (university) professional and well run -Happy Dragon ( state road 70 east) -honorable- mention, as I was greeted from behind a customer before I could even tell their conversation had ended , very professional, even guessed my order based on order...
Read moreI ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan and the Buddha Delight, but THEY ARE THE EXACT SAME DISH with a different protein (one having chicken and the other being tofu). Moo Goo is Chinese for mushroom, but the dish didn't have any mushroom. I also don't understand why they are listed as two separate dishes if they are the exact same. We called the restaurant about this, and they said that they took out the mushroom from the mushroom dish because "people didn't like it." If that's the case, they should label the dish accordingly! We ordered two different dishes expecting two different dishes. They were also supposed to have bak choy, but, surprise, there was no bak choy. Overall, a huge disappointment as this was my first time trying out the restaurant. They have bad customer service, and the food isn't...
