The first time we went here we had such an amazing time we had to come back as soon as possible which was less than two weeks later! The first time we had unreal service and terrific food and became members for their club. However, there is serious inconsistency here.
Last night my wife and I went out to eat after having to check to see if our house in St. Pete flooded for the second time in four months. (The first flood was the reason for our recent move to the area). Unfortunately, Jada gave us a terrible night which started with a mediocre attitude which was understandable given it was a busy night. However as the evening came on, she was so rude my wife and I truly felt we were on the “candid camera”. This incredibly rude server lied to us about the restaurant having remaining bread as tables around us continued to get extra loafs. At the begin of the meal she rushed us by saying that “the kitchen is behind because it is so busy” but then has all our food come out in 5 minutes? She then makes a mistake the with order regarding my wife’s potatoes and instead of leaving them there or taking the entire dish, she proceeds to yank a hot ramekin off my wife’s plate using the cocktail napkins from our drinks and splash filet meat oil everywhere. Even worse, to avoid a scene, but very frustrated despite my hot food coming out, I went to discuss the situation with Keisha the manager at the front about our server. She said she would get us “back on track”. Her version of “management” was to scold the worker Jada about her attitude and then send her back to the table to apologize and say how “we did not understand her”. It was not seconds later she is audibly talking gossip about our table with the other wait staff. Better yet, Jada comes over with a low class dessert, a check, and says “has a good night” with no offer to refresh our drinks or even order a dessert of our choosing. While Jada should never be representing an establishment like this, the biggest letdown was that as new SRQ residents we were so excited to join the club that we had to cancel last evening. While the food is delicious, my wife and I have never been made to feel so downright embarrassed in a dining establishment albeit taco bell all the way to the best restaurants in Rome or Maui. I don’t expect frills, but I expect human decency and respect which I worry I will never get back into this restaurants. This restaurant fails for both service and managements response to the situation. Sad because I do not know if we could ever walk back in after being made to feel so awkward, embarrassed, and...
Read moreNope. Third time was not the charm. We went there this last time, and we had a such a terrible experience the table next to us was concerned when we were getting ready to leave. They strongly suggested we get the manager and report it, because they could not believe what they had seen. The waiter was a tall fellow with bleach blonde-brown curled hair in a ponytail with a beach tan and was our absent-minded waiter. He was very distracted, looking in all directions, taking his time, forgetting things. We had to ask and ask and ask again for things. He would say things like, "Oh, no one brought it yet?" or, "Your food is coming" and he would just forget. Finally, when food arrived we asked for a lemonade refill for a kid at the table. The waiter was looking at another direction when he placed it down, and it spilled all over the kid's clothes and a man next to him and it went all over the kid's meal. The waiter proceeded to pick up the glass and someone else came to help while he began picking out the ice cubes off the kid's meal. He didn't ask or give anything to help dry the clothing that was ruined. Inclusively, when we asked if he could take the kid's meal away because it was full of lemonade and ice cubes (that he was picking out) he acted indignant as if we were crazy to ask for such a thing. "Would you mind replacing that meal with a fresh one, seeing as it is filled with lemonade?" His response, "Oh, you want me to replace the meal" Yes, we told him, as it was full of lemonade. We seemed surprised. Took it with him and we waited another almost 1/2 hour before it came. The waiter was just not coming to the table, and again 'forgot' about the meal and we had to remind him. His response (again) "Oh, no one has brought it yet?" and then proceeded to disappear. I waited so long that my food got cold and so I just asked for a container for the whole meal. He brought two small containers and when I asked for just one large one he asked why I didn't just split the meal in two containers (huh?). No, I want to place it all in one. Don't even ask how long it took to get the bill, as the waiter was MIA and we kept asking for it, and he'd forget. Someone else would have probably dined and dashed, but we're not cut from that fabric. Worst waiter and service ever. We want to mention we've eaten there at least 2 other times and have ordered online as well. Both times we've been to the restaurant, we've had bad luck with the wait staff. But we just let it go. No longer - unfortunately. We really wanted...
Read moreLast night we attended Cooper’s Hawk Restaurant for the first time. We were excited to support our local business. We were early to meet our friends and decided to have a glass of wine at the bar while waiting. One can buy bottles of wine at the restaurant or join a club to have bottles chosen for you monthly. We decided to only have a glass of wine each. The house Cabernet to be exact. Our bartender was Adam G server number 737 . We were in the Sarasota restaurant in the Fruitville Commons. The wine was mediocre however that was acceptable since we knew it was the house wine. The bill came for $51.00. I thought this is rather expensive but in my forgiving ideals thought perhaps this is how it is in this establishment. I paid the bill and left a $9.00 tip. I continued to feel unrest with the amount charged. I waited for Adam to complete serving other customers and asked him to come by. I looked him right into his eyes and asked was “This the amount of money for a glass of wine” he shook his head in an affirmative way and said “Yes”. I said “This is a lot to charge” and he mumbled something in agreement. Believe me there was no mistake in that transaction of words . I questioned Adam about the cost of a glass of wine and pointed to the receipt , and both times positively he said yes. I have middle aged children and am always concerned about young people making a better life for themselves. So, I believed him and by that time my beloved friends came by. We sat down for dinner. Unfortunately , after a long wait the dinner came cold and salty. It really once again was unimportant to me because we had an enchanting evening with our friends who by the way are well known in the community. When the bill came I noted a glass of wine was $11 or so. WHAT!!! We called the manager to check the earlier bill I had received from the bar and said it was a mistake. The bartender had inadvertently charged for a bottle of wine. Adam made no mistake , he knew perfectly well what he was doing. Later this morning I came to understand more money was added to my friends bill to augment the tip. The Mantra of this restaurant is underhanded and evil. The decor is lovely but don’t let it fool you. There in lies a Den of Thieves in Sheep’s Clothing …..Support your local pizza joint ..you will have better food and be supporting people who want to give to the community rather than take from you .Definitely find another restaurant this one is...
