Curry and Kabab in Port Charlotte is a hidden gem that offers an authentic Indian dining experience with mouthwatering flavors and exceptional service. Located at 3492 Tamiami Trail, this highly-rated restaurant has become a local favorite, boasting a 4.7-star rating from over 200 reviews. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the enticing aromas of fragrant spices and freshly baked naan. The menu features a wide array of delectable dishes, from their popular butter chicken to flavorful lamb specialties like lamb baltigosht and lamb saag. Vegetarian options are plentiful as well, ensuring there's something for everyone. What sets Curry and Kabab apart is their commitment to quality and authenticity. Their tandoori specialties, cooked in a traditional clay oven, are particularly noteworthy. The tandoori mixed grill, a combination of chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, hariyali, malai, lamb boti kabab, and tandoori shrimp, is a must-try for those who want to sample a variety of flavors. Customers rave about the restaurant's attentive service and the perfect balance of spices in their dishes. One reviewer mentioned, "Such a great find in Port Charlotte! We got medium spice in our butter chicken, and it was a great amount of heat but not overwhelming". The garlic naan, in particular, receives high praise from patrons. When ordering "Indian" food in places such as the United States, garlic naan, biryani, butter chicken and dal are ubiquitous. What is notable in Indian food is their use of fresh ingredients, aromatic spices and herbs, and widespread practice of vegetarianism. Curry and Kabob is no exception. There's no shortage of vegetables, fruit and rice. In addition, cooling yogurts and homemade lemon preserves make appearances at almost every dish served. The portions are generous. The tender Lamb Madras or the fragrant Chicken Dum Biryani may easily feed 3-4 people. I ended my meal with a delicious cup of Madras coffee and delictable Gulab Jamun. Out of curiosity I spooned the Gulab Jamun syrup to sweeten the Indian coffee ... yummy. The restaurant has a well stocked bar with an array of liquors that would make a professional bartender giddy. The staff is friendly and attentive. The decor complements its Indian cuisine, which creates a warm and memorable dining experience. Locals and travelers can explore authentic Indian cuisine right here in Port Charlotte.

I found out I like indian food. A lot!! As long is not spicy. We had bought food from this restaurant 4 times now and is good. I was told that this restaurant prepares the food in a more authentic manner than the others in the area. I can't confirm this since I never visited India or had an opportunity to eat with a family from India. We love the rice. Very fluffy and tasteful. The sauces have my wife wanting all the time Indian food now. We had try some of the items on the menu. The goat is great and has a very unique flavor but expect to find little bones from when is cut into pieces. The lamb and chicken is where the indian cuisine is totally different. Like the food. The place is ok for lunch or dinner. The music is a little loud( newest Indian popstars most of the times). I will visit again. March 15 2022 Food is still good. Service a little slow. Expect to take home half of what you order.

We love this place - especially myself, I love spicy food. The food is good. Have never had any issues with service. And the atmosphere is good as well; not too certain what to mention there. I will, however, go into some details for anyone who hasn't eaten here & may be interested in trying them out. So, let's say you either really love spice or it's not really your thing. Many menu options come with a "pepper meter" on the side, and these indicate how spicy they can be; the options that lack these are generally on the more mild side regardless. Once you order, the waiter will ask how spicy you want things. Don't like spice? Go mild. If you're like me, and you're not having a good time unless you're regretting your life decisions? Go hot, baby. There's medium as well for anyone not terribly into either side. Also? Order some garlic Naan with your meal as a side. Don't question me. The menu is set up nicely, each item having a good description of what you'll likely be getting into. They also have a code on the side, like "V-4" for vegetarian option 4, if you'd rather not try to pronounce the item. As well, yes, extensive vegetarian options. Chicken, lamb, goat for others. Finally? I haven't really perused the alcohol too much; I'm peculiar in that I only really like sweeter drinks. My boyfriend ordered their Taj Mahal, though; really decent sized bottle for $10. Like, that's a good bargain compared to most places. And it seems they serve most of them with a chilled mug. I'm not too certain what else to say beyond that, yeah, I'm quite pleased...

I just visited Curry and Kabab today, and all I have to say is, "Wow!" This is the first time that I have visited this restaurant. I was going to go to my nearby favorite Mexican restaurant, where I know the food is delicious, but I thought that I should be more adventurous. If I didn't like this restaurant, then, oh well, I just wasted one meal. But if I really liked this Indian restaurant, then I found a new favorite Indian restaurant. I found a new favorite Indian restaurant.

The restaurant is in a small strip mall that has seen better days. Even this restaurant is non-descript on the outside. But I compare it to a non-descript oyster that has a very beautiful pearl on the inside. This place is a gem! The price for the lunch buffet is a very reasonable $9.99. Considering that I had three full plates of food to eat, I would say that I got my money's worth. I saw some business people here, so I guess the word is out about this place.

The atmosphere is welcoming on the inside. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was displayed in hot warmers. I tried everything, and everything was delicious. They have six curries, if I remember correctly. All were very good. They have vegetarian selections as well as meat/poultry selections. I really liked their Naan bread with the different curry sauces. After getting full--and getting my money's worth--I tried their rice pudding for dessert. It was very good. They also give you free refills on their sodas.

It was a very fine dining experience!
