Found this because it's close to the interstate. They had the 2nd best reviews, and we always root for the underdog, so we gave them a go. No regrets.
The ribs were fall off the bone tender and fair sized pieces of meat. We had the 1/2 rack which came out with more than enough pieces for the two of us. A good portion size for the price of $11.50 I think. (Paid cash)
The meat 🍖 was well seasoned but not over done. We chose the Sweet BBQ sauce and they provided 2 containers for the 1/2 rack. Again, a generous amount.
The sauce was very nice. Honestly a middle of the road flavor that was worth looking for when passing through, but not so amazing to buy a bottle for home.
Our two sides were mac and cheese & coleslaw. The m&c pasta was overcooked and mushy, and the sauce seemed overly processed like from a can. We are both picky about slaw, and we cleaned out the container evenly and wanted just another bite or two. Mayo based with a good level of seasoning. We just spent 10 minutes defining our relationship based on this slaw, so yeah, I would consider buying it by the tub if we lived nearby.
We went through the drive thru then ate outside, so nothing to report on the inside other than the men's room was clean, well lit, and decorated in a nice rustic barn type atmosphere.
Only issue was their speaker system didn't work during this visit because the wind was blowing from the right direction to make it too hard to hear each other, so we just pulled to the window and placed the order there. The girl was apologetic which was nice but unnecessary, and the food came out quickly, so all was good.
Good ribs, very good mayo-based slaw, and...
Read moreMy experience with this restaurant started out amazing; however, today was not a very good experience. My wife placed an online ordered for two chili bakers and two fried okras. She prepaid for the entire order online so all I would have to do is pick up. Upon arrival, I was informed that the chili baker option is currently unavailable. I attempted to cancel the order at this point; however, I was quickly informed by the cashier that they had no idea how to cancel or refund an online order. Left with no other option, I chose to replace the order with two regular loaded bakers. The two loaded bakers we received in place of the chili bakers were nothing special, nothing extra was added to the potatoes. It was cheese, sour cream, chives, and bacon bits only nothing to make up the cost difference to make up something I could hextra to make up the cost difference. A regular baker is much cheaper than the chili bakers we paid for and did not receive. So, we didn't get a refund or even anything extra at least to make-up for the food cost difference. The reason I am giving the review five stars is that I believe this to be one of those rare accidents that occur. I am more than willing to give your business a second chance; however, might I give you some advice. The menu is vague when it comes to details on prices of every item, and exact dates of seasonal options, may want to adjust your menu a bit. And your employees might want to consider learning how to handle online orders in case of any possible future incidents. I appreciate your hard work and dedication to customers, keep up the...
Read moreMy order was terribly wronged months ago.. and when I called for reconcilement, I was asked for my phone number exchange for a "be our guest" (voucher phrase).. I've never eaten anything apart from my usual 2 items and the food is yet to let me down.. (old school plate,& Frito pie) My fiancee thinks it was the end of last year but I'm thinking it was Feb or March but before today, we hadn't been back there since and we were feeling squared away with the place (in good standards).. today we were told that their systems were down therefore they couldn't honor "the voucher".. I offered my name, number, and my license to be photographed.. I was denied and tried.. Especially when I was asked by the manager, what was the wrong order (months ago) as a test question.. smh
Making matters worst, my pregnant fiancee's pecan pie was forgotten from the order this time and when we called about it, we were assured by the same manager that it wasn't on the order and that she'd take a picture of the receipt (we never received) and send it to us if we like.. I told her no it's fine I believe you if you're saying it wasn't rung up.. the bad thing about the call was when she said during the confusion, the woman who took the order, left off the pecan pie- when I didn't mention the "voucher" until after the order was finalized- in wich we had repeated it back to her 2or3 times to her at the window only because the drive-thru speaker was down
@the...
