NORMALLY, this Don Pan is very good and my recommendation would be five stars. They have good empanadas, their toast is amazing, and I enjoy their coffee. However, this all changed last week (July 22), which is why my rating is at this level (until they apologize and rectify the situation).
I like their breakfasts; namely the American breakfast, which offers eggs, toast/croissant, ham/bacon, and latte. However, I do not eat pig products, and thus, I forfeit a substantial portion of the meal. However, the last few times I have come, I was able to get a "substitution for the faithful" (i.e. fruit, another egg, etc.).
This past time, I got resistance and unwillingness (or refusal) to understand my dietary restrictions, and on top of that, a very uncalled for nasty attitude and response from the manager.
Her idea of a compromise was then to say if I wanted chicken or beef, to which I was thrilled and said "fantastic, I'll take it". She did not mention that it tacked on a $3.99 surcharge and swiftly left before I caught the fee. However, I did and I told the cashier I was not about to pay extra for something I was not informed there would be a charge for, and if that was this oaf of a manager's compromise... then she can take it back. I'm not about to dish out $4 when I said for religious reasons, I don't eat pig and then get charged for what she said was a 'substitution'.
I'm not saying that all needs be accommodated when unavailable or impractical, but a reasonable substitution was possible and is evidenced by other well-intentioned and reasonable people who have done so in the past, at this same location, as opposed to some oblivious, mindless imbecile who probably is incapable of fathoming why someone finds the idea of eating pork repulsive.
As they have no contact forms, I wrote them through Instagram, to which they have not responded as of...
Read more03/18/2019 AM I find it terribly unfortunate to have the need to write a second part review, but here it goes:
After a week vacationing in Miami, Iâve come to notice thereâs something foundationally wrong with the youth that is being hired at this bakery. In comparison with their much older counterparts, the young kids working here lack the detail awareness to take orders. I have to say I much rather have my order taken by someone twice their age.
This was my order: (1) Arepa with Ham/Cheese (1)Coffee/Milk (medium strength) and (2) crĂquets.
Instead I got: (1) Arepa with ham and the wrong cheese. (1) confused faced because they forgot to charge me for the croquets and make the coffee which they made too strong.
Mind you, the line was relatively small... and no apology at the end. Thank you for your mĂĄs o menos service Don Pan.
The food was phenomenal but the service by one of their employees wasnât very helpful. For a place that calls itself âInternationalâ one must have in mind that some of the clientele will need help choosing through the options and are not knowledgeable on how to order/combined the...
Read moreAs I walked in, there was a couple of people in line waiting they did not greet me and say good morning. When I get to the cach register the next lady said next she didnât even say good morning to me and then right away. Started asking me what I wanted when I was telling her my order she was trying to rush me out and I told her maâam I was not finished. Iâm trying to order me some coffee. And then she asked me for my name misspelled my name wrong so when I was getting my orders, the lady was saying another name and when I ask her if that was mine, she gave me an attitude She needs to be more professional and more nice to people. We are here spending money I did not came here to get no free food so they need to do better with customer service and they need to train that lady and let her know that she needs to be more polite towards the customers, the lady had black hair with glasses and no name tag on her shirt and for me to receive this type of service the food was not even good...
