E Sushi & Grill — Restaurant in Florida

My boyfriend and I decided to try out this place for lunch on a Monday. We are new to the area and wanted to try out a few places around our house. Not lucky for us, we decided to try out this restaurant since it is very close to our home. First thing we noticed walking into the restaurant, it smells like sewage. There was no hostess at the front desk, since she was playing on her phone. Once we got sat down, we ordered sweet tea and I ordered a sprite (but she brought out a Diet Coke). It tasted weird so I decided to order a Original Japanese soda since there was no other flavor. My boyfriend ordered Chicken Udon noodles while I ordered Salmon/Tamago nigiri. The presentation came out beautiful but the salmon tasted odd. That night, he didn’t feel well and didn’t eat anything. The following day, my boyfriend woke up with a high fever and an upset stomach. I thought it was the corona virus and we got tested twice, both came out negative. I brought him Tums, sport drinks, and Imodium to help him, but nothing was working. I’ve been coming here for a while. Maybe 2 years. Recently food quality and service has gone way down. I always place my order online, and in the request box I request that cream cheese be added to my rolls, it’s an extra dollar but I like it, so I’ll pay for it. My order this time had no cheese in the rolls, and while I wasn’t originally going to say anything about it because mistakes happen, Friday night I got violently sick with food poisoning. I have been vomiting and stuck to the toilet day and night for the past three days. So much so, that I had to go to the hospital because I could not even hold water down. Because of this I decided to look up their health inspection records. They have been shut down numerous times for many violations including improper storage of raw materials and insect contamination. Absolutely vile. I’ve disputed the charges from my credit card but still have not received any communication from the restaurant, since the only way to reach them is to call them, and they never seem to pick up the phone. I love sashimi, and am always checking out places that have good sashimi dinners. Having just come to the area and living in NY where I can get great sushi, I was happy to find this place. Went in and was a bit disconcerted by the lackluster, dull, almost shabby look to the interior. Japanese culture loves perfection, and even ordinary restaurants that use paper mats under their glass tables at least line them along the edges. Even this minor thing showed lack of attention to detail, so I convinced myself to give the place a try. The husband wife team were very nice. The few couples who were leaving as I came in seemed to be regulars. I ordered the sashimi deluxe. The meso soup and the salad were both fresh and tasty. The dinner itself was a pleasant surprise. I had nothing to drink except water but my total bill was $30, but the sashimi seemed to taste very fresh and the pieces were of good size and texture. I wiped my "boat" clean, figuratively speaking.
