I’m giving two stars because we’ve ordered from them in the past and the food has been good. However, this order was absolutely horrible. For starters, we ordered through DoorDash and ordered a $10 “Brownie Sundae” which is advertised as a brownie with ice cream, whipped cream, walnuts and chocolate syrup. They only sent us a small square brownie, and it wasn’t even that good. I had vanilla ice cream at home thankfully. $10 for a small brownie square with no toppings. Also, we ordered a bananas foster cheesecake and they sent the cheesecake without any sauce, no whipped cream on top, and completely missing the top layer of cake. Another $10. Lastly, they sent the French onion soup uncooked in a styrofoam cup! Completely uncooked with unmelted cheese on top. We literally opened it and cackled (we did appreciate the laugh), but for the money we paid, these items were really disappointing. After they had a great health inspection my mom and I were very excited to order in from here. But after this we’ve decided we’re not going to eat from this place again. And we’re disappointed about this!!! DoorDash only gave us $6 back as a credit, which we don’t find to be fair. (The soup is not getting eaten and you’ll see why in the attached photo, and that alone cost more than the $6) And we no longer recommend the French onion soup (which she’s ordered many times in the past and loved. It’s NEVER looked like this before.)

went here with my friends after a local bar crawl in the area and we were looking for some quick finger food! we get sat and no one took our drink orders which was bizarre? my friend asked if she could get chicken on nachos instead of beef, so the server said “let me check” and from the POS system she screamed “we can do that” so my friend assumed all was good! my other friend ordered a pretzel with beer cheese, and the cheese tastes so artificial (so gross it gave me goosebumps) and the pretzel was raw/doughy that she couldn’t eat it (thankfully they took it off the check). i ordered just some fried mozzarella and it was $13 for 4 circles of cheese with weird red sauce. overall, the food here is mid and overpriced. worst of all, my friend was surprised with a $4 up-charge on her chicken replacement, that was NEVER mentioned by the server. i mentioned it to the server at checkout and she literally ignored me and asked for my card to pay. i’m unsure if they just didn’t like that we were coming after an event or just ordered some finger food but it was for sure one of the worst dining experiences i’ve had in a while. giving 2 stars because there was one server running around that was actually nice and helped us with our pretzel issue!

Visiting from NYC and I wanted to enjoy this experience but it ultimately ended up being a dud. We contemplated getting up after getting sat for a party of 7 three different times. The first issue is that they set us up on the main sidewalk even after we suggested they place us on the lower sidewalk. That whole process requires so much input and guidance from us that it frustrated us to start and then they left a couple of members on the ledge of the sidewalk so they could’ve fallen back. The 2nd part was the pictures lights that they couldn’t turn on so we could actually see each other better. Despite 2 requests that they do that ultimately ended in “we don’t know how.” Cool. We moved on from that and then we were joined by a bunch of smokers including and an employee smoking cigarettes upwind from us. Patron should be asked to smoke away from areas where food is being served. And then I hoped the food was going to be the saving grace and it absolutely wasn’t. The steak I got was so tough and the sweet potato fries cold. Honestly wish I could get a refund for the night- not so much money but more so of the time and experience we wasted there. You win some, you lose some.

Eastside Bistro – A True Avalon Park Treasure That Treats Locals Like Family

If you're lucky enough to live in Avalon Park (zip code 32828), you probably already know that Eastside Bistro is more than just a restaurant — it’s a cornerstone of the community. Nestled right in the heart of the neighborhood, this locally loved bistro has earned its stellar reputation not just for its great food, but for the way it treats its customers — especially its Avalon Park regulars — like family.

Local Love & Community Spirit: Eastside Bistro truly understands what it means to be a neighborhood spot. Locals from Avalon Park are warmly welcomed the moment they walk in the door. Service: The service is consistently top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about creating a great dining experience. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch, unwinding after work at the bar, or enjoying a weekend dinner with family, the team makes you feel welcome and appreciated every time.

Gave this place another shot. Been here going on three years. Went twice in our first six months. Didn't like it. Figured it's one of the few places around still surviving in Avalon, let's try again. That was a mistake.

Ordered food delivery this time, since never had a good experience inside and seen a lot of comments of people with similar experiences on social media. Wife craved a burger and figured they got good looking burgers on their menu let's try it.

Quote from my wife, "If making burgers that sound good on the menu totally bland, they nailed it."

From what I heard of hers, meat tasted completely unseasoned, herb mayo comment was "where's the herbs?" And she ordered it well done and it was close to a medium maybe medium well and still with a little pink and tasted off. Ssid there was more flavor in the fries than the burger. McDonald's has more flavor cause at least they douse theirs in salt. And this is the $21 kobe burger. Total ripoff.

For me, I ordered the French dip. Wish I could give a complete review on it but they forgot to put in the dip that makes it A FRENCH DIP. So I had a dry roast beef and Swiss sandwich. I tried to call the restaurant three times and only got a full voicemail box. Luckily I was able to get in touch with the delivery service Sauce and they gave me a refund since I couldn't reach the restaurant to resolve it. I ended up throwing out 3/4 of the sandwich and made myself a roast beef sandwich of my own with some Oscar Meyer beef, not even Boars Head and it had more flavor and moisture. The caramelized onions if you can call them that, tasted off as well and I legit feel sick now as well as I type this.

Needless to say, this is the last shot I'm giving this place. I don't know how of all the good places that have come and gone through Avalon this one is still...

This is a small hole in the wall place. It has potential to be something. When we got there there was a small party that was just concluded but besides that it was relatively slow that wouldn’t impose a hardship on the kitchen. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very pleasant, helpful and just great all around. I went there for an early lunch. The kids had the chicken tenders with the fries, my wife had the boom boom shrimp bowl and I had the Australian Wagyu ribeye with Cesar Salad. The food was absolutely garbage. The chicken tenders were basically leftover chicken bits that were way over breaded and way over fried. The breading on the chickens were burned. Additionally, some of the chicken tenders were just fried clusters of breading without any chicken tenders. The boom boom shrimp bowl was subsidized with chicken bits and both the shrimp and the chicken bits were over breaded and burned. I ordered my steak medium it was medium well done, and I highly doubt it was actually Australian Wagyu or if the cut was an actual ribeye. All though they listed the steak to be 12oz, it was thin, less than a quarter inch and it was way over cooked. The Cesar Salad consisted of a bowl of lettuce with a very modest amount of cheese, four croutons and Cesar Salad dressing on the side. It took about 30 minutes for the kitchen to prep my salad and about a good 45 minutes to prep our main course. I genuinely gave it a chance but I sincerely regret it. The chef/cook should not be allowed in the kitchen. He/she does not have the skills or qualifications to cook for others especially not for profit. I walked away feeling like a fool and taken advantages of. Our waitress was wonderful and we didn’t want to embarrass her, but I will never going to return to the establishment and strongly recommend against anyone...
