Ordered food delivery this time, since never had a good experience inside and seen a lot of comments of people with similar experiences on social media. Wife craved a burger and figured they got good looking burgers on their menu let's try it.
Quote from my wife, "If making burgers that sound good on the menu totally bland, they nailed it."
From what I heard of hers, meat tasted completely unseasoned, herb mayo comment was "where's the herbs?" And she ordered it well done and it was close to a medium maybe medium well and still with a little pink and tasted off. Ssid there was more flavor in the fries than the burger. McDonald's has more flavor cause at least they douse theirs in salt. And this is the $21 kobe burger. Total ripoff.
For me, I ordered the French dip. Wish I could give a complete review on it but they forgot to put in the dip that makes it A FRENCH DIP. So I had a dry roast beef and Swiss sandwich. I tried to call the restaurant three times and only got a full voicemail box. Luckily I was able to get in touch with the delivery service Sauce and they gave me a refund since I couldn't reach the restaurant to resolve it. I ended up throwing out 3/4 of the sandwich and made myself a roast beef sandwich of my own with some Oscar Meyer beef, not even Boars Head and it had more flavor and moisture. The caramelized onions if you can call them that, tasted off as well and I legit feel sick now as well as I type this.
Needless to say, this is the last shot I'm giving this place. I don't know how of all the good places that have come and gone through Avalon this one is still...
Read moreThis is a small hole in the wall place. It has potential to be something. When we got there there was a small party that was just concluded but besides that it was relatively slow that wouldn’t impose a hardship on the kitchen. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very pleasant, helpful and just great all around. I went there for an early lunch. The kids had the chicken tenders with the fries, my wife had the boom boom shrimp bowl and I had the Australian Wagyu ribeye with Cesar Salad. The food was absolutely garbage. The chicken tenders were basically leftover chicken bits that were way over breaded and way over fried. The breading on the chickens were burned. Additionally, some of the chicken tenders were just fried clusters of breading without any chicken tenders. The boom boom shrimp bowl was subsidized with chicken bits and both the shrimp and the chicken bits were over breaded and burned. I ordered my steak medium it was medium well done, and I highly doubt it was actually Australian Wagyu or if the cut was an actual ribeye. All though they listed the steak to be 12oz, it was thin, less than a quarter inch and it was way over cooked. The Cesar Salad consisted of a bowl of lettuce with a very modest amount of cheese, four croutons and Cesar Salad dressing on the side. It took about 30 minutes for the kitchen to prep my salad and about a good 45 minutes to prep our main course. I genuinely gave it a chance but I sincerely regret it. The chef/cook should not be allowed in the kitchen. He/she does not have the skills or qualifications to cook for others especially not for profit. I walked away feeling like a fool and taken advantages of. Our waitress was wonderful and we didn’t want to embarrass her, but I will never going to return to the establishment and strongly recommend against anyone...
