We finally went for the first time right at 5pm before it got busy. It is really nicely located in the middle of Avalon Park. You have seating in and out which outside has a better view to people watch. We walked around and checked out the various vendor options. Each vendor has great looking menu items to choose from. Unfortunately most vendors lacked any form of customer service, they didn't speak nor look up to acknowledge us standing there. Most of them had food prepped out in the open with no lids and it didn't look very appealing nor sanitized in the metal containers. We decided on BBQ50 and got the Bat outta h sandwich with beans and mac n cheese. It was hard to eat due to the meat had too much liquid smoke and mac n cheese tasted like powdered box mac n cheese but the beans were good. We're coming back to try other vendors such at kbbq. The guy at Cheese Share was on his phone and could've cared less but the cheese looked incredible so we will check it out on our next visit. Stopping for coffee next time around is a must for us as well. We didn't notice a place for burgers unless me missed it all together. Last but not least, missed seeing any African American vendors unless we missed it as well as the burgers. Either way looking forward to our next visit to...
Read moreOrlando needs more food halls/marketplaces/places with multiple food stalls. Both customers and businesses benefit from this concept and I simply don't understand why we don't have more in this area. I heard that a new food hall will pop up in South Eola and am already looking forward to it.
Marketplace at Avalon is, quoting their website, an "innovative food hall, general store, commissary kitchen and event space". Here you will 10 or so food and drink vendors serving high-quality food. I tried the smoothie and salad at the Juice Box and one Argentinian empanada at Resto and was pleased with both! Before ordering, I walked around the hall and stopped at each vendor to ask questions about their menu and each one of them was extremely friendly and helpful. The fact that the building and its furniture are new, and the overall relaxing and casual atmosphere, made my experience even more pleasing.
Obs. I took photos of my friends' plates but didn't try them, therefore the 4 different photos. On the occasion, I had the salad with the eggs and the pina colada smoothie from...
