So unfortunately, after being there so many times I had one incident where the waitress brought me a plate I did not order and I got charged for a larger platter although I pointed to the smaller one, even asked her what was included in this price, she still went and gave me the more expensive platter. Then, after 1 hour of waiting for this appetizer platter, I had to ask her where my food was. finally Someone else brings me the food. I also ordered a bucket of beer. At the end, the bill was $80. When I asked her why it was SO high, she proceeded to explain to me the price of the platter. I proceeded to tell her with the person I was confirming that we asked for the smaller platter. her response was she thought I meant the larger platter. then it still didn't add up and there was a difference of $12 extra that she claimed was tax. I asked her for a detailed invoice and she prints it out and it says service charge not tax. I ask her so this includes the tip then? she says I don't know. of course you do. it clearly states service charge. Either way, I paid the bill, but didn't order anymore beer like I normally would have and left. Edited 9/16/25 -1 year after the previous review. I went back again this time with a group of 5 other women. 1 of them was there for the first time. the night started off great.We danced a lot, laughed a lot, ate great food and drank quite a few buckets of beer. Well well here comes the bill $330 which includes gratuity. My friend who was there for the first time was insisting on paying.I look at the bill and told her gratuity was included And I turned away and kept talking to the other women at our table. when I turned around the waitress had sat down across from my friend, explaining to her that the gratuity that was listed on the bottom of the check was for the kitchen And the bar not for her and proceeded to have my friend give her an additional twenty percent.I turned around when I kind of heard what was going on and told my friend absolutely not since 20% gratuity was already included.However, my friend not knowing and being there for the first time paid another twenty percent. While on the line to use the restroom, I saw a young lady in the uniform and asked if I could speak to a manager.She asked what it was about & I told her I would prefer to speak to the manager.She said, well, she was the manager.I proceeded to ask her if the gratuity at the bottom of the check is for all the staff and she said yes, why?I explained to her how her waitress had sat across my friend and insisted that the gratuity was not for her services but just for the bar and kitchen. She didn't look surprised and a few other ladies chimed in and also expressed how wrong it was. I asked her to refund the additional gratuity & she said she would. She came out 10 minutes later with a $67 refund slip. i never told her who the waitress was Or which table I was at but she knew and brought out the refund slip. So either this is not the first time it's happened or this is a normal thing that they're okay with doing. Either way I go to Florida several times a year to visit family and every single time I go there. Unfortunately this was my last time because as a fellow boricua this is disgusting behavior. Read moreI’ve been to El Rico Frappe several times, and I can honestly say the food is always excellent and made fresh. However, the staff consistently leaves much to be desired. I visited about a week ago, and while the food was great, the service was very rude. I try not to take things personally, but when I returned today with my family, the same poor service was repeated by Diane, who had helped us yesterday as well. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing rude behavior, I won’t be coming back. It’s a shame because the food is amazing, but customer service is just as important.
He visitado El Rico Frappe varias veces y puedo decir honestamente que la comida siempre es excelente y fresca. Sin embargo, el trato del personal deja mucho que desear. Vine hace una semana, y aunque la comida estuvo genial, el servicio fue muy grosero. Trato de no tomarlo de manera personal, pero hoy regresé con mi familia y experimenté el mismo mal servicio por parte de Diane, quien también nos atendió ayer. Lamentablemente, debido a la actitud grosera que he recibido, no volveré. Es una lástima porque la comida es increíble, pero el servicio al cliente es igual de importante.
PS: After reading all your responses to your customers, it’s evident that you refuse to take responsibility for your poor service. Your replies do nothing to address the issue and instead focus on denial and deflection, rather than actually listening to customers and resolving their concerns. Thank you for clearly demonstrating what customers can expect when visiting. We had to go to the bar to get more drinks and on top of that they charge us $30 tip even though she didn't gave service at all Also my husband steak was not cooked at all. I asked for her name right in front on the owner. So this just happened. And if you want i can load the receipt. We spend over 200 on food today and she was HORRIBLE!!!!@ We did not request expedite service. We arrived there and the previous waitress was very polite. She had us sitting inside and told us that ones a table was available she will move us outside. We place the order inside. Then we were move outside. We asked for some appetizer prior our meal and one of them didn't arrived after waiting close to and hour so I asked about it and said if the appetizer was coming with the food I didn't want it. And guess was it cam with the food. She NEVER CAME BLACK to see how our food was or if we needed more beverages ones again she was awful and she was not worth $30 As a business owner you really need to have you employee taken responsibility for their actions. The biggest issue was the waitress, we didn't complain about the bill we are complaining about the service we didn't have. A waitress that didn't do anything except taking our orders and never checked on us. Obviously she is not a very good server because every bad review about service is because of her. So unfortunately we will not be coming back. I usually tip 20% but giving a tip to a rude person that didn't NOT SERV US is outrageous.
