My family and I decided to drive to El Rinconcito for some Colombian food, but unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed. We arrived around lunchtime and were seated quickly, which initially seemed like a good sign—until we realized why the table in front of us had left without ordering. The restaurant was already out of several menu items, including most of the soups and empanadas. Fortunately, we managed to snag one order of empanadas before they ran out—they were actually quite good. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. When our food arrived, every order was incorrect. My grandfather received the only available soup, but it was served cold, as if it had just come out of the fridge. My mom ordered the fried red snapper, which came out burnt. I had the skirt steak and asked for it well done. While the thinner parts were cooked through, the thicker portions were still underdone and visibly bloody. When I politely asked if they could cook it a bit more, the server responded rudely, saying, “You already took bites out of it.” For the record, I had taken three bites and wasn’t asking for a new steak—just that the remaining portion be properly cooked. Her attitude was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional, and it really left a bad impression. To top it off, when the bill came, it was a hassle to get them to remove the fish, even though it was inedible, and there were no replacement options. My mom was left hungry, having only eaten the small side salad that came with the fish. We also said that if you have to charge for the side salad since she ate that and not the fish just ring us up for a side salad and not the 25 dollar fish. The staff made no real effort to fix anything, and their lack of professionalism was incredibly disappointing. Overall, this was a frustrating experience. The food had potential, but the poor service and lack of basic quality control really overshadowed it and we will not be giving them more money or...
Read moreThe worst service and food my mom and I went today for lunch special which was carne sudado and soup my mom did eat all the soup everything was fine but the actually entree had to much cumin for her she took two bites and finally found a waitress that would help and the waitress had a total attitude my mom nicely told her she can’t eat it that she was sorry and if she can just get another plate the lady said no why if you ate it with a big attitude and rolling eyes, then she called the I assume manager for waitress and she came up and said what’s going on and my explained and advices her the other waitress did not have to be rude about the situation and the lady said unfortunately we can’t give you nothing else because you did take a bite ! (How is someone suppose to know if they like without taking a bite right or wrong ?) so then she asked oh where are you guys from my mom answered Peruvian and the lady said well our food is different and my mom and I laughed and said no we’ve eaten Colombian food at different restaurants and never tasted like this and the lady stayed quite and again said next time let us know you don’t like it sooner. Then I spoke and told her to please speak to the waitresses because attitude is bad customer service .and took the plate then our actual waitress came and said what’s going on and my mom explained again! And she said oh sorry we can’t give you nothing else , then we waited 10-15 for the check so we can just leave but my mom had to get up and ask where the waitress was to give us the check .. and the manager said the waitress left already .. and she gave us the check .

Read moreFood was ok. Service is terrible to say the least. No one at the counter knows how to say “hello” or acknowledge anyone waiting for service. The elderly lady should not be in charge of running the service counter, keep her in the kitchen. I waited to be helped for 15 minutes with employees running around like chickens with their heads cut-off, and no one offered to help. The elderly lady finally took my order, but really did not take my order. I waited another 15 minutes as they waited on people over the phone and sat down more customers that were dining in. When they finally got back to me she had to take my order once again because she had not written it down. When I finally got my “take-out” order there were no utensils, napkins, sauces or straws and again I had to wait for someone to help me and get me those items. You can find good food elsewhere, don’t settle for the lack of service at this establishment. I will never go back to this place again. By the way, don’t get “papa rellena”, they don’t know that “papa rellena” has other ingredients, like beef, not just potato. All I got was a deep fried potato... What a lack of professionalism. If the entire staff takes a customer service training class and they get rid of the elderly lady up front this place...
