I was so excited to come and have dinner with my family because I heard nothing but good reviews from TikTok and boy what a disappointment. At first we sat outside to hear the band and it took the server about 15 minutes to acknowledge us, just to tell us she will be right back with menu. We decided to go inside and sit down for dinner instead because it was so hot. It was a disaster in the restaurant, all the servers look like they didn’t have a clue what they were doing. We sat and waited another 30 minutes. My husband got up twice to get someone to even take our drinks. Finally one of server came and ask her what was going on and she give me attitude that they were busy. I kind you not 45 minutes have passed and not even glass of water was given at our table. I would have walked out at this point but had my 86 year old aunt was with me had to feed her. We finally order my sever was really nice and took are order quickly since he knew we waited for a while. We oder arroz con gandulees, lechón y ensalada, Mofongo, con lechón y ensalada, tres. Alcaparras y una orden de morcilla. We were so hungry and excited to eat. They’re famous for their LECHÓN and oh my God the food was so bad one of the worst I’ve had for a Puerto Rican restaurant in a very long time. To top things off, I had to get up and find my server to pay for this food We didn’t even eat and took a peek at the kitchen. The kitchen was a disaster. Obviously, they are very disorganized. The servers need training people kept coming in and it was total chaos. I will never ever go back to this restaurant and would never recommend it...
Read moreIt was our first time @SeñorLechon after seeing a TikTok video promoting them. Cute quaint spot with very limited indoor seating but plenty of outdoor. I was properly greeted & just waited a couple of minutes to be seated. It was a very HOT Saturday 5/18 & the A/C wasn’t working making my comfort level unbearable when eating. I even told a different waitress why there wasn’t any air flow or coolness & was answered with a shoulder shrug. I will admit that I didn’t inform my waitress that it was our first time however I should’ve been asked when we were told the initial greeting/speech. We opted to have 3 appetizers (morcilla/alcapurria/pastel) & drinks-all good & true to PRican flavor. Time passed as I waited for our appetizers, then placed my main entree order which ended coming to us first prior to the appetizers thus prompting me to say I wanted appetizers first then was told ‘the whole order comes together’. I commented that this was going to make my main entree cold. I dont like eating cold food. I ordered a pound of lechon with yuca. It was good but the yuca had the middle rib/root which should’ve been taken out when served. They boast serving a crispy piece of skin which wasn’t. I got a soggy/soft cuero-disappointing. Food was good however my server Ellie lacked experience and attentiveness. She wasn’t informative & failed to check on us to see how our order/food was & if we needed anything. Nothing happened thus making her tip less. Not the best experience for a 1 hour drive from...
Read moreFor all puertorricans in the area, this is a great spot. Good location with easy access. Food has great flavor and menu has a nice variety of puertorrican classics. Alcapurrias, empanadas, sorullitos, bacalaitos, pinchos y mucho más! Of course, they have mofongo with your choice of protein. All classic drinks as well. The staff are really nice and accommodating.
There's three reasons why I gave 4 stars and not 5. 1) Parking. It is a small plaza and there is not enough parking when there's a good amount of people. You may have to park across the street. 2) Inside seating area. It is a small place and gets full quick, especially weekends. I got there just before the afternoon rush and got a table, but it got busy really fast. There was a group of people that were a bit loud and made the place uncomfortable. If you like outside seating, then there's plenty of tables. It was hot outside when I went so opted for the loud air conditioned inside seating. 3) Greasy food. I understand that many of the items are deep fried and will be greasy, but I had to press the alcapurrias and bacalaito with a napkin to absorb some of the oil. Could not eat the bottom of the mofongo cause it was drenched in oil. Even the arroz con gandules left a puddle of oil on the plate. To me, this was a turndown. If this doesn't bother you, then you'll be fine.
Overall, I think they have the ambiance, the flavors, and good service of a true puertorrican restaurant. I'm not sure if I give it a...
