Finally tried El Torreonense for the first time. Service was very friendly and the server, who is something of a local celebrity, talked with me about the menu and gave me recommendations. I took her advice and got three gorditas with three different fillings to try a range of flavors. They were all good but the one that stood out most was the gorditas filled with cooked cactus. We ordered the gordita with potatoes and the picadillo. Perhaps I have just not had this type of meat before but it looked really bad upon opening. The taste was okay but seemed like it was old. They did not serve chicken or didnt have it when we were there. Again, I want to like this place bc it is a little family business but I will not be returning...
