I have to say i was extremely disappointed, it took me awhile to convince my girlfriend to go try this place and it was disappointing.. we ordered the table side guacamole and it was not worth the extra money. It was bland, the avocado wasn’t ripe enough, and no seasoning was used! Tasteless.. i ordered the happy plate trio and oh man what a disappointment. I asked for rice and it came on fries, they took it back and fixed it, but when i got the plate it was like i ordered a rice dinner. 2 small thin sliced pieces of chicken, 2 small thin pieces of steak and 4 shrimp. I wish i had remember to take a picture cause it was a mountain of rice. Even after i finished eating the meat it looked like i hadn’t even touched the rice. My girlfriend ordered the taco salad took 3 bites and said taco town had better taco salads. P.s their margaritas lack alcohol and taste more like a sugary mix, would not recommend, i would consider it a virgin drink, it was pitiful. Overall to have to spend nearly $100 and nearly everything was below average is sad, they need to lower their prices for the quality of food that they put out or increase the meat portions, cause to pay for all that rice has me flabbergasted. The bartender was pouring good drinks, they were either too sour, too sweet or not mixed right. 3 star overall and that’s only cause the server was great and the...
Read moreTwo visits, two totally different experiences.
First time a couple of months ago when we were in town (for lunch) was very good, food was fresh, service was prompt and all went well. Unfortunately, based on that trip, we invited some friends that also love Tex Mex to join us there for dinner.
Big Mistake.
Restaurant was not crowded, and staff were sort of just hanging out. Music was VERY unusual, and quite loud. Took a long time to get initial server visit, had to ask for salsa and chips. Brought those and menus, and literally 2 min later she was back wanting to take our order. We said we were not quite ready, so with an empty restaurant it took 10 min for her to come back for the order.
Food was quite expensive, NOT tasty at all, sort of gummy / not freshly made. Also, my tamale was probably the worst ever: totally dried out, not a drop of sauce on it, just tossed on a plate.
Once we paid out, we sat around for another 30 min or so catching up since the place was empty, and our server NEVER came back to see if we wanted anything else or needed more water, etc. Felt like everyone just wanted us to be uncomfortable so we would leave, even though it was still early.
We will not be going back. FWB may not be the Tex Mex capital of the area but there are other restaurants with better food...
Read moreStopped in with my two kids (ages 17 and 8) for a quick lunch and a place to sit down. The service was friendly and the restaurant itself looked nice inside, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the setting or the price.
My 8-year-old ordered the kids' cheese pizza — I get that it’s a Mexican restaurant, but if you're going to offer it on the kids’ menu, it should at least be decent. It was the smallest personal pizza I’ve ever seen, and honestly looked and tasted like it came out of a microwave. My daughter enjoyed her burrito with rice, though it was on the greasy side. I ordered the 3 tacos, which were small and pretty underwhelming — not much filling and very basic.
While nothing was outright bad, the portions were small, and for a bill that came to around $60 after tip, it just didn’t feel like a great value. Not a terrible visit, but likely not a place we’ll return...
