My girlfriend and I ate here this past Sunday. It was our 1st time eating here as well. Everything was phenomenal! My girlfriend was actually impressed by this place for a couple of reasons too.
1st one is that yall have sweet potato fries which she loves and the other reason was the menu prices.
We started off with the Sweet Potato Fries basket appetizer. The fries weren't overcooked or undercooked. It was at a great medium especially for sweet potato fries. The appetizer is priced at $8. Now, for that price I wish it came with a bit more fries, like at least another handful.
For dinner I had "The Finnegan", mashed potatoes and Guinness gravy over an open faced sammich with sliced prime rib. My only complaint was the gravy, it wasn't bad, I'm just not a fan of the slight bitterness I could taste from the Guinness in the gravy. Nonetheless, I still cleared my plate though, and it was very filling. Not many single dishes can fill me up in a single sitting. (It didn't help that I snacked on some other foods prior to getting real food 😅) Price for it was $16.
My girlfriend got the Fish N Chips Dinner Basket. Which is also $16. She's not one to describe how her food is very well, so based on how much she ate and how quick she was eating it, I'd say it was fantastic. She subbed her coleslaw out for a Caesar Salad which has a sub charge of $2.29. Now, for a side dish Caesar Salad it was a lot (which she liked), she had devoured about ⅔of the Salad before the main dish came out. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pictures of the salad prior to her eating most of it.
For the service.... Stephen was phenomenal! He absolutely rocked, especially since he was the only one we saw who was actually working the floor... bussing tables, taking orders, bringing food out, etc. He was all over that restaurant. Hopefully, he's working the next time we are there. If I had a little extra money, we would've tipped him about 15% rather than the 10% we left.
As for the atmosphere of the place... it definitely had the bar and grill vibe, but we didn't quite see the irish/Scottish feel for the place either. But this is only our 1st visit here, so I definitely could've missed something that gives off irish/Scottish vibes other than the green...
Read moreI recently visited Finnegans Saturday night for the first time after being invited to join my friends for their music trivia event, and I must say, it was an absolute blast! The place was buzzing with excitement and the energy was contagious.
The highlight of my evening was definitely the music trivia. The questions were challenging yet entertaining, keeping everyone engaged and eager to show off their knowledge. The atmosphere was electric, with the whole crowd cheering and laughing together. It was evident that the staff had put a lot of effort into organizing this event.
Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the chef's salad as my dinner meal, and oh my, it was an absolute delight! The flavors were fresh and vibrant, and the combination of ingredients was simply mouthwatering. The portion size was quite generous too, with a huge plate that left me feeling satisfied and content. I appreciate when a restaurant pays attention to both taste and portion sizes.
The service at Finnegans was also commendable. Despite the bustling crowd, the staff managed to stay attentive, ensuring that everyone's needs were met. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient, providing timely service throughout the night. Kudos to the team for their hard work and dedication!
Overall, I had an incredible time at Finnegans. The music trivia night was an absolute blast, the place was packed with enthusiastic people, and the chef's salad I had was a delectable treat. I highly recommend visiting this place if you're looking for a great time, good food, and friendly service. Finnegans has definitely earned itself a permanent spot on my list of favorite hangout spots in town. I can't wait to return for more...
Read moreAs a 941 native, this is my first time in “Finnegans since they took over beef o Brady’s. And I can’t imagine why.. we came in, no hostess, the bartender could’ve said “sit anywhere you like we’ll be with you! But nope, so we sat wherever and hoped for the best. Staff was friendly, however we noticed they didn’t keep some of the menu options that’s beefs has. I’m getting lost in decor trying to figure out if it’s an Irish pub or farmhouse. The metal screeching guitar playing from the stereo kind of annoying. If I’m going to listen to heavy metal I’d rather be at a concert.
$10 for spin dip and there was only enough dip for two spoonfuls. All these chips and no dip. Sad and a waste!! :( The ceiling above the bar is dusty AF!! Like really bad! Same with the ceiling fans and the light fixtures above our tables. You can tell the servers never moved the actual tables to sweep under. Is this TJS cds and more? Why is there T-shirts hanging on the wall? Get a nice display case or something. Ordered a Cuban the bread was all black and crusty because guess what! They prolly didn’t clean it! lol. The burger is low quality meat and was literally soaked dripping in grease. 🤮 I asked my friend to say something but were really not those people to complain. Plus he’s a guy and was hungry naturally he ate it. Let’s pray we don’t die. My advice go to beefs in deep creek, cleaner and...
