Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Florida

First visit to a Freddy's: Heading home from a basketball game and not wanting to stop at any of the unappealing usuals we were randomly drawn in by their 1950s style and decided to swing through the drive-thru. However when I saw how how extensive and appealing their menu was we decided to skip the forced eat and drive and opted for a relaxing sit down dining expereince. We were absolutely blown away by the great food and options and even moreso by the friendly, helpful and thoughtful staff that greeted and served us. This is definitely not your normal McDonalds fast-food: you're bothering me, hurry up and get out dining experience that we unfortunately have to put up with alot these days. The staff at this establishment catered to us, explained their menu and even took the time to engage us on a personal level, make suggestions, and even came back during our meal to see if everything was satisfactory, to our liking and if there was anything else they could do or get for us. What??? - that never happens! Kso was by far the most professional, engaging and down right hospitable associate I can ever remember having ever dealt with and when I spoke with his manager DJ about how exceptional we thought our dinning experience was it was overtly evident that their demeanor, attention to detail and customer appreciation and satisfaction were the very staples of their hiring and retention protocols. The dining areas and restrooms were, clean, the food was fantastic and the staff was absolutely incredible. By far the best dinning experience we have had in a very long time. If you want to be pleasantly surprised and actually enjoy a great sit down meal served by a staff that treats you like family or old friends then you have got to visit Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers at 386 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park, Florida. They are more than worth the trip and you will definitely not be disappointed. I realize more people speak out when they have negative experiences, and I’ve likely never given Freddy’s a review before. This would mean my previous visits were acceptable. Although this place never knocked my socks off, but it used to be a nice treat once in a while.

Tonight I tried a jalapeño jack burger and asked for LTO. The lettuce was the worst part of the head, but at least there wasn’t much of it. The tomato was sufficient and the onion was over abundant.

I got a meal with fries, but I’m guessing it was too wasteful to have the ketchup dispenser or the paper cups, so I got to tear open multiple wasteful plastic packs of condiments instead.

Lastly, I’ve never had such an awkward interaction about a chocolate malt in my life. I’ll excuse the young lady in her third day at her first job, but the manager should know the difference between a custard, a concrete and a malt. Or maybe I don’t understand what Freddy’s calls a malt.

I visited the establishment on June 4 at 12 pm. Food is very tasty but cleanliness is awful. The Freddy's at Blanding is disgusting. Floors, tables, seats, kitchen, counters, equipment are all dirty. As soon as you open the door there is a horrible smell of stagnant water combined with grease. It smells like they use dirty water to clean with the same rags and mops that they've been using for months without washing them either. When you walk, you can feel the shoe sticking to the floor. The food is very tasty but it makes me wonder how that food is handled. The custard is incredibly good but the machine is dirty and this treat is made with eggs. I can only imagine all the bacteria on the machine. Just think twice before going there. I've read previous reviews about the same problem and to this date nothing has been done. The Health Dept should know...
