I am a 57 yr old from NY married to a Colombiana. I've never been a huge fan of tamales in this country. I have tried them on dozens of occasions over the years and was nonplussed. I stumbled on the Andrew Zimmern show "Delicious Destinations: Miami" one day when he rated the Tomale's at Fritanga Montelimar as the best in South FL. A week later I had to drive to Weston FL on business and afterwards I decided to continue south to this place in "Little Nicaragua." I ordered one of their Nacatomale to stay and devoured the huge tomale enjoying every bite immensely. I then ordered 1/2 a dozen to take home and my wife, who is careful about every calorie she puts in her mouth, cannot stop eating these incredible delights for lunch. My only regret is that I didn't buy 2 dozen Tomale's because now I have to make a special 2 hour trip to buy more. Gracias a Dios I didn't discover these things 15 years ago when we moved to Florida or my wife and I would each be 50 pounds overweight by now. Dangerously good. I buy the spicy Tomale's for me and my wife prefers the non-spicy. A nice friendly family owns and operates this small place. Call before you go to ask if they have Tomale's in stock. However, today the lady that attended us idk her name because they don’t have name tags nor did she talk to us at all but she couldn’t say your welcome after I kept saying thank you after every request I made while placing my order.
