Arrived for an early dinner (5:00) Started out with 2 of the Blueberry Spritzer Drinks (came is the smallest glass they had) & the fried mushrooms...they were really good. Asked if they had any melted cheese to dip them in instead of ranch dressing; waitress said they had queso dip...which would work (when the bill came it was a $2.50 up charge; she should've at least let us know. Ordered the Smashed Gator Burger & asked if they had cinnamon & sugar prior to upgrading the side to Sweet Potato Fires ($2.99 up charge) & was told they did. I was asked if I wanted lettuce, tomato, onion, & pickle for it & I said yes. Hubby ordered the Italian Grinder off the lunch menu & was told immediately that there would be a $3.00 upcharge because the lunch time was over. Well just look at the photos...no cinnamon & sugar on the well done sweet potato fries...no lettuce, tomato, pickles. Had to wait for the waitress to bring what was missing & was given "caramel topping" to use with the sweet potato fries because they ran out of cinnamon & sugar!?!? Really?? Huge disappointment. At least when I said that the burnt sweet potato fries weren't edible for me, the waitress did offer to bring another side....but...I had to wait quite a while to get the tator tots that I settled with for a replacement that the manager finally brought to our table. I'd hate to see how much worse the service would be if they actually had 75% of it full with customers. For the price, the service was poor. If you'd like to try some "alligator" based food, give them a try...maybe you'll have better luck than we did. At least we gave the restaurant a try, but it's a hard NO ...we'd ever dine there again.

This was my first visit, and it was takeout. The greatest thing about this restaurant was the people and the service. When I went in to pick up my food, there were three or four teenage girls working the front. They were super sweet and helpful, all of them. One was being trained, and the others were doing a great job, helping her learn the trade. I was so impressed by the friendliness and the teamwork. They asked if I wanted to go through the order with them piece by piece, to make sure everything was exactly as I had ordered. (That never happens!) I said sure, and the new person took me through my package. Everything was exactly as I had ordered. I ordered over the phone, which can be tricky, especially when making special requests, but they were all followed perfectly. My friend and I wanted to split a salad and a meal. We ordered the Seabreeze Salad and substituted the dressing for blue cheese. It was fresh and delicious. We asked that they split the salad into two containers, since we were sharing. They did so, and each of us got a very generous portion of salad, with the requested substitute dressing. The ribs we ordered were tender. I’d give the ribs, gator bites, tater tots and garlic mashed potatoes four stars, but the salad and service were a five.

Gators Dockside is a great casual dining experience in Spring Hill. Located in the Lakewood Plaza (where Publix and Target are along US 19), the restaurant has the south end of the building with ample parking. The inside is open and airy, and they offer outdoor dining as well. The tables are large enough to fit four adults comfortably. A wide variety of options are available on the menu. Obviously, you can get fried gator tail here, but there are also a range of selections in both seafood and standard American fare that can be ordered. My wife and I have been several times - sometimes with the kids and sometimes just the two of us. I've had a few business meetings here as well. The atmosphere and experience are compatible with all of these settings. Each time I've eaten here, the staff has been courteous and attentive. Drinks are refilled without asking, appetizers arrive quickly and the main meal is always hot and tasty. The food has a great taste to it - better than the typical frozen food restaurants. I don't know how they source their seafood, but it is well cooked and flavored. Bottom line: After multiple visits, I recommend Gators Dockside. Both the food and service are great. I'll be back again soon.

It’s rare that I ever leave reviews, but this was so bad I just had to. It’s been years since I’ve been to gators dockside, and it’s a shame because I have many fond memories of going there. Sadly, this time was not that of my nostalgia. First we’ll speak of the shrimp Cesar salad. How you go wrong with a Cesar salad? I’m not sure but the lettuce was very slightly wilted. If that was the worst thing then I’d give 5 stars but no, then we have the shrimp. It was tasteless and though I’ve never tried her cooking I imagine this shrimp would taste similar to that of the mother of the YouTube channel Joshandmomma. If you know about this channel, then you know. Now I wanted to critique the salad dressing for tasting heavily of mayonnaise but some people may like it where I really do not so I won’t knock them for that. TLDR: I took like 3 bites and decided I couldn’t even attempt to take another bite. Now we’ll move on to the boneless wings. I ordered an 8 count and received 12 pieces. Now, I’m not complaining about the extra food. I appreciate the solid you tried to do me there, you deserve a promotion for being the highlight of my meal. However I didn’t want to get to nugget 12 as once I plucked my chicken out of its swimming pool of mango habanero sauce and took a bite, it was rather tough in some spots but tender in others. Now I’m sure there’s no such thing as a microwave in that kitchen but, I’ve done the same thing to chicken before and that was how. To finish it off, the bleu cheese was tasteless, which for bleu cheese lovers is an act of war. We appreciate the sharpness. All in all, I was really disappointed this time. It has me questioning if something happened to the quality here or if my adolescent pallet fooled me into enjoying it. Either way today was an L for me. I really do hope today was just a nuance, as all the pre gaming I used to do here, would beg me to return for another shot. (Of JD ofc) Gators, please get it together….

Thanks for...

Any experience of a food service establishment, begins when you first enter the front doors. At Gator's Dockside in Spring Hill Florida, this is where the excitement begins. For the rare occasions where there is a weight, it will always be very brief. The staff are attentive and well-informed, first meeting your seating needs and then any beverages you prefer. There's always specials of all types, and a very informative menu with wonderful pictures to match, this is just the beginning of what's happening for you in the front of the house. In the back, were the food was professionally prepared and everything is always freshly prepared and ready for a day of adventure for your taste buds. Not only is it friendly for all adults but all children alike, with many different selections of menu items for everyone to consider. And now they have new recently released items, were the name of the item is only outdone by its wonderful ingredients, and sooooo delicious on your palate. The new tailgate menu includes, coach Gators touchdown tacos... Mouth-watering bourbon bbq, Buffalo chicken, sloppy Joe, and Thai BBQ shrimp. The Grandstanders are crunch time green beans, first and cheesy bacon burger, kickoff jalapeno cheddar corn dogs, and let's not forget Gator sideline fries. And the dessert menu the Red zone explodes with excitement as well,... Double fudge brownie, fried oreos, overtime pretzel bites and, and if that wasn't enough cheesecake roll-ups. The staff at Gator's Dockside will do everything and anything to make your experience a happy one, because they are not in the restaurant business, THEY ARE IN THE PEOPLE...
