I have tried this place three times. They are one of those places that has the attitude we are doing you a favor letting you eat here. The first time we got sandwiches which were okay but on the small side. The second time we were with friends. I ordered a grandma slice but was given a Sicilian slice because there was no grandma slices. Nothing was said to me I had to ask why it was a different slice after it was put on the table. I got the eggplant rollatini which was okay but cold. I asked for the peanut butter cake for dessert and was given a slice with marshmallow no peanut butter. I told the waitress it was the wrong cake and she argued with me it wasn't. I had to go up to the dessert case and show her. This was not a new waitress. My husband ordered a special beef stew. The waitress said it was beef with gravy, carrots, onions and potatoes over pasta. What it was...green peppers with more green peppers, a watery sauce that tasted like peppers and 4 very small pieces of beef over pasta. There were no carrots, no potatoes, no onions, not a beef gravy. It was not good. The third time was on a Friday we were a party of six. We arrived at 735p and were told we couldn't be seated because they close at 8pm on Fridays. They told us that we can order food but have to leave with it, that we can't sit at a table because then they would have to clean it. We ordered food and while waiting for the food two gentlemen came in and sat at a table and ate. When we asked about it they...
Read moreDidnt like that we got shoved off into the backroom where theres no atmosphere! Thats why i couldnt rate as a 5 for atmosphere but the mainroom was to cool to rate a 3 like where we got shoved! But we got up and walked around and looked at all the italian deli type stuff in the main area! Theyve got fresh meats and cheeses plus some really great looking desserts in there display cabinets. Every bodies food that was being served around us looked so good. But we decided to go healthy & ordered a gluten free pizza and that was a mistake the crust was like cardboard and all these other pizza's around us looked so good. The garlic knots we got before hand were great and man were they covered in garlic goodness so 👍on those. My wife tried the stella rosa seltzers and she loved the full fruity flavor of them they are from Italy. So yes they do have beer/wine/seltzers so enjoy. My recommendation to the owner would be to have a menu for the beers, wines,& seltzers youve got available instead of the waitress having to go thru them all with every customer. When i was up and looking around i spied the chocolate dipped cannolli's and had to go back when checking out and bought 1 to go!haha Havnt tried it yet but will get back later on how they tasted! I didnt think the prices were outrageous but you got to remember it is an old world deli set-up! It was super crowded when we got there at 11:30AM on a friday so might be better to go later in the afternoon! My wife and i...
Read moreSomething has changed here! I am gluten free and I really enjoyed your GF sandwiches which have a gluten free bun. Last time I was there I was told that they only offer sandwiches at lunch! So I am planning to go to dinner with my family on Friday, I called on Thursday to see if I could get a GF sandwich at 4:30, when we were planning to be there because I work till 4 pm they told me that I could order a GF sandwich but I couldn't eat it in the restaurant, I had to take it home to eat . Told them I would be with others and I would also order a salad, etc when I picked up my sandwich their response was " NO YOU CAN'T EAT YOUR SANDWICH IN THE RESTAURANT ONLY AT HOME! This Is So wrong, I am paying for the food , being told that I can't eat it in the restaurant because of the time of day!!! I am being discriminated against because I have ciliac disease! Gio's has limited options for someone with celiac disease!! I don't like your gluten free pizza and I can't get a gluten free sandwich ‼️ It is not like I am asking for free food or something, I am simply asking for something I can eat, with out being hospitalized and to have it served to me after...
